Default Got rear ended. Hit N Run: Any one get their money back from the other party?

Have not posted much lately. Not been in the mood. Got rear ended a few weeks ago. Guy wanted me to pull over in a lot so that we can talk. I said not before I take a photo of your car and plates. Surprize guy did not pull in behind me. Called the cops and did a police report and gave them the plates and description as best as I could I was shaken up as my fiance said her back really hurt.

Any of you guys been in this situation and actually gotten your insurance deductable back? I know i'm probably facing one of Texas thousands of uninsured motorist.

Just as this places the plans for my car on hold.

I am thankful that my fiance, car, and myself are all alive.

Uninsured people should be forced to work off their debt as your servant.

Wasn't this a Seinfeld episode?

It would be unfair to single out people based upon ethnic and socioeconomic trends in regard to financial responsibilities.

If I understand the OP, you got a picture of his plates, right?

I'd imagine if you hand it over to your insurance company, they'll be after him rabidly.

If you have a picture of the plate and the police are not going after him...call the news. We don't pay tax money to the police to run the DUI machine, we pay them to serve and protect.

That ------- sucks. I'd call back tomorrow, if you bitch enough they may put in some extra effort. Do you know what type of car the person was driving? Color? Details about the driver (approx age, sex, race, stature)? How much of the license plate did you get? Any chance of the incident being caught on the camera of a local business or traffic camera?

My last Miata was taken in a hit a run. In fact he got two of my cars. I was asleep inside about 5am. Guy leaves a party up the street and plows into the back of my 99 TJ, which hit the back of my cherry black 97 Miata. Guy drove around the corner ditched the car, left the keys and called a tow truck and the cops. Called the car in stollen and walked away. fml Thats two deductables. fml

I think it was the Seinfeld episode where him and George makes a pilot called "Jerry". It wasn't picked up b/c the replacement producer didn't see eye to eye w/ the prior producer that was in love with Elaine.

Yup. It is on my phone. I should post it here

The H and R was about three weeks ago. Got a call from the on scene officer a few days ago for some info. My insurance already has the guys plates and accident report number as I gave to them.

I need to call the HPD police report place, but the last cop that answered it was a real jerk. I should have told him that I am a civil servant also.

I have already done what you guys have said, but I fear that he will be uninsured and I still will be out my deductible.

if he doesn't cough up, we can all send him empty milkcartons with a cut out of his face on the back until he gets the idea

Frankly, I wouldn't worry as much as you seem to.

You know who the guy is, you have all of his info. The worst case situation is you are out a deductible because he's uninsured - and your insurance company proceeds to rape the ---- out of him legally.

They are going to want as much money as they can get out of that guy if he's uninsured, and it's an insurance company. They won't stop over little things like "ethics" or "mercy".

PM me the plate number. I'll contact my old cop buddies. They're military, but depending on the day they have access to civilian databases. If I get a name/address we can all mail him escorts and ****. Or take turns punching him in the nuts.

I need state/plate #/and type of vehicle. The better description the better color, model, whatever you know
