And Porsche wasn't there?

Aside from the ethnical considerations...
a gray car is about as ethnically considerate as it gets

Jesus. I'm pissy looking at that too. Brand new, more than likely not broken in.

naw they are just breaking it in right. (no scarasim, warming up the engine on the drive too the drag, then doing some pulls would be close to a optimum break in...)

Look at the front of this car. Doesn't that front end look a little beat on?!?

To quote one of the GTR forum guys. "the cars come with 23-30 miles due to track break in".

WTF? Nissan takes every GTR to the track prior to shipping to the USA? Are you kidding me? Maybe those cars came in with 0 miles and the dealer was just doing the appropriate track miles as recommended by Nissan!!!

I think the GTR will be a great car...

When it's 3 years old and 1/3 the price. I think cars capable of supercar speeds should require some kind of skill to drive. I hate the GTR simply because any a-hole with money can get in and drive fast. With all the electronic nanny's in that car anyone can look like a hero on track days. There is so much technology keeping that car stable it likely says excuse me when you fart into the charcoal and electronic ventilation/filter system in the seats.

cue I think you're **** out of luck if you think the gt-r will be 1/3 the price in 3 years. Not with something hyped this much.

You're likely right. It might take 5. We'll see what happens after they've been out a year or two. Hard to know what cars will plummet in value and which hold up well. There are an awful lot of 80K cars that sell for 25K in a short time. I hope the GTR is one of them. Actually no. I hope they go up in value so every joe blow can't afford them.

BMW does a dyno pull on the cars before they leave the factory in S.Carolina.
Just saw them on the Ultimate Factories TV show

Prior to delivery. Ferrari takes their cars out for a few laps the factory track and runs it to make sure it is worthy of the 250k+ price. Saw that on the Ultimate Factories as well.

Nissan may very well do one of those things prior to shipping the GTR's. Who knows.

I'd be pissed if I were buying a NEW GTR for 10-20K over MSRP and found out the damn sales manager had been tracking it the day before. It's dishonest of the dealership to call them "new" in that situation. They should be sold as Demo's.

I'd also be pissed that they were such bad drivers that one barely broke 13.5 seconds.

As a person who is never likely to own one of these I'd rather they took them out ******** than dragging. I'd like the pictures of the salesman going sideways into a wall better.

I don't mind these cars or their prices at all. I think it furthers the industry. Anything that can help push GM to make the LSx even better is okay by me. I'm also digging what they've managed to do with a car that weighs twice as much as it should. Could you imagine all of the goodies in something that doesn't weigh so damn much? Cars like this give me (ten years from now) more options for the ultimate car to build.

The entertainment factor isn't too bad either :-)
