Default SLR Gurus, help me pick a lens.

Looking for a 70mm - 300mm lens for under $200. I came across these three. I need your opinion though.

Thanks

Sigma $125.99- http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/P...x?sku=A0540511

Canon $179.99- http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/P...x?sku=A0670090

Tamron $170.99- http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/P...x?sku=A1365214

Do you have a Canon SLR? I have the Canon lens for my EOS film camera, and it's really pretty good, but I'm pretty sure the EF won't work with other brands.

I don't know that you'll find much difference between the quality of images from each of those lenses, since they're all going to be similar in construction. I have a sigma 15-30 DG. It was a gray market lens that came with a Mack warranty- and was about 20% cheaper than the US version. This is back when they first came out. It's a super lens for price BUT it has been the only lens I've ever had that needed servicing - and soon after I bought it. I had Sigma 50-500 which was amazingly sharp - BUT not worth any price w/o image stabilization, so I sold it. All my other lenses have been Canon used and new - never any problems with any of them. I'd definitely pay $10 extra to get the Canon over the Tamron.

You can review images on photosig by lens too for examples.

Yes a Rebel XTI. It takes all Canon EF and EF-S lenses.

I've had my Canon lens for over 10 years without issues - works pretty quickly and have had good reproduciton even at full 300mm and fast shutter speeds. Plus it's designed to work with your camera.

I have had a Tamron 28-200 for a few years now. By far its the best quality lens I have owned. Has a great overall nice feel to it.

Since they are all F5.6 I'd get the cheapest one.

I'm pretty happy with this one I just picked up:

Well I went ahead and bought the Canon lens. Soon as I get it I'll throw up some test shots.
