Default Solidworks help

I know some of you guys are well-versed in Solidworks and I could use a little help.

I made a suspension setup for a school project, consisting of several sub-assemblies in one big final assembly. One of the assignments is to make a exploded-view drawing, including a bill of materials and the balloons pointing to the various parts. Me, being a dumbass, didn't properly name the parts before finalizing them and now my BOM consists of a load of 'default' partnames. Is there an easy way of renaming them/editing properties and put my name/class/etc. in their properties before I have to manually edit 50+ parts? Also, is there an option in SW that allows me to put my name/class etc so that all future drawings/parts I make will have them correctly by default?

Thanks.

Attached is one of the parts I made, Kosei K1 Racing wheel.

i can not imagine that solidworks doesn't have editable metadata in each part/assembly.

in Pro/E you can name files whatever you want but then edit variables contained within so that in your bill of materials report, only the names and part numbers you want display.

Pro-E kicks *** in ways such as that Matt. I haven't figured out within SW all the coolass tricks that you can do in ProE. Plus being the most knowledgable guy in solidworks at my job doesn't help further my knowledge...with ProE my boss was a wizard.

Anyway, yeah if you rename your configuration names then your assemblies won't now where to look unless you tell it. Sooo if you don't want to do that then:
-Right click configuration name within the part file
-Click properties
-Second window down is "Bill of material Options"
-In drop down menu select "user specified name"
-Enter what you want to display in the BOM

Or you can manually enter the data within the BOM table in the drawing. it will unassociate that specific cell.
