Soo... anybody smoke here?

But so is speeding and molesting little boys - and I don't see me or you cutting down on either of those! Like I said, I did it for about 3 years (the smoking pot, not touching little boys in the NO NO area) when I was 19-20 years old. It is a recreational drug like beer and I would probably smoke an occasional joint if I didn't have to go through drug testing at work and I didn't have to stand on a corner to buy it. I'm not sure how much of my "I don't give a ****" attitude back then came from smoking pot - perhaps it was the attitude that made me smoke it in the first place. Some of my friends that smoked ended up with good jobs and mega bucks and some of them still work at Wal-Mart. I doubt if the pot caused either.
So, who's going to do the research and tell us why it is illegal and booze isn't? I have a Dr. appointment I am late for (to get some REAL drugs).

a few cigs a day and a nice blunt or hookah every now and then. there's a coffeeshop 5 minutes from my house too. Still got a nice supply of different kinds of tobacco for the hookah. although green tastes best

I've never done any kind of drugs. Never felt the need to, never will.
I don't have a problem with people who do drugs in their own house, but those people who do them and go out and do stupid **** bother me. Drunk at home, whatever. Drunk driving, not cool.

Smoked cigarettes(3-4 packs a day) for decades. Quit before most of you were born in the seventies. Don't miss it.
Tried weed on my 65th Birthday. Wasn't worth waiting for and have no urge to try again.
My brain cells are dying off fast enough on their own.

I used to smoke a lot of herb. A lot. I spent the better part of my college career smoking on an almost daily basis.
Did it ruin my life? NO
Did I do harder drugs because of it? Sort of; it opened my mind to trying new experiences. I didn't try harder stuff looking for a better high.. I tried harder stuff to try other things.
Do I regret it? Hell no
Did it permanently alter my body? I don't know, but doubtful it did more than my tattoo and piercings.
Did it permanently alter my mind? YES, thank god. I used to be very close minded about a lot of things. I also used to stress about unimportant matters and suffered regular anxiety/panic attacks which were severely hampering my studies and social life. Even after being away from any form of controlled substance for ~3 years the positive changes to my personality have stayed with me.
I am a firm believer that if alcohol and tobacco are legal, marijuana should also be legal. It's no different than cigarettes from a material aspect. The high is shorter lived than alcohol and the plant matter is less dangerous to the respiratory system than tobacco. The hypocracy that criminalized marijuana is a disturbing thing. If someone ***** their life up due to weed, chances are they would have done the same with alcohol or some other substance had weed not been created by whomever/whatever created this planet.

I could go into a huge rant about how great of a plant it is, how it was wrongfully prohibited, and how you can use it for fuel, clothing, and medicine. But ill just leave it at that.
Patsmx5, you don't have to be blaques father, i bet you he doesn't buy half the alcohol (if even) that the rest of the college students do(and probably spends less money doing so). I know that id way rather smoke a little than get trashed off booze. the only thing wrong with it is its not legal.
Oh and btw guys, marijuana does NOT cause permanent brain damage.

smoked in highschool and then quit. Started again in college and got serious. I went to college up near Canada in NY and it is dirt cheap. I was smoking an ounce a week at one point. No more though, I like having my memory back, and my money...and my intellect. But I do agree it should be legal if alcohol and cigarettes are.

Smoked cigs for 30 years. Quit 3 years ago. Now I'm pissed off at all the money I spent. Smoked some herb on a fairly regular basis, but never more than a couple of hits at a time. Nowadays I toke only when I'm out fishing and have nothing else going on. I consider it no different from drinking except I'd much rather be in the company of someone who is high than someone who is drunk.

The problem was it wasn't as expensive as you'd think. (The other problem is I ******* loved weed.) At that time I was getting reg's for 50 an oz and the best **** I've ever had for $200 an oz. Like I said, this was #1 right next to Canada, and #2 in the middle of nowhere near Indian reservations. Back home around NYC most people only sell in dimes and twenty's which rapes you out the *** on price versus quantity.

Exactly. It's just like alcohol, except one is illegal and therefore taboo to some. I never did understand WHY it's illegal though. If someone can provide a justification I'm all ears.

I smoked weed once and it was such a bad experience I will never try it again, ever. (After the fact someone said it was laced.. whatever that means)
But.. I think if someone casually smokes weed, more power to them. As long as it doesn't control their life, who gives a ****? Its just a plant, IMO alcohol is worse.
