Anybody else taking apart their lawn mower?
I got a mower for free and it likes to **** out on hills. I'm taking apart the engine right now and it's kind of fun. It has a weird *** configuration so I'm downloading a CD from demonoid with the service manuals for every B&S engine ever made
I hate mowing the lawn but taking the thing apart is pretty cool.
Maybe I'll eventually do this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GOaT7...eature=related

I have a 16 year old 2 cycle lawnboy. Bought it new, still runs perfect, starts on 2 pulls, they last forever.
Including the time my GF called and said the lawnmower quit running. I came home, started it, and after about a minute, I could tell by the sound what the problem was. She put unmixed gas in. Drained it, put in mixed gas, no problem.

I also have a reel mower. I only break out the gas one when the cabbage gets too high for the reel to cut through. I think I'm gonna port & polish the head on the gas mower for an additional .25 HP.

Or you could just DL one from B&S for free.
Unless it's a How-to.
I just got a used Murray. Did the lawn tonight and then changed to oil to some Amsoil from Solfarick since I was ordering some anyways.

I pulled the head off my 22 year old Snapper (B&S engine) last weekend to clean off the carbon. The thing burns oil and starts hard when cold, but still runs well. A new plug, oil change and air filter every year, and they last forever.

Last spring I had to take one of these apart and get it running.
The farm bought it used from the state and never ran it. Steering was gone, none of the pulleys for the blades were attached, nor did it run. I had that ****** mowing 50 acres a week in no time. By far the coolest mower I ever used.

Not quite as big as that, but we have a 72" Zero-turn SCAG, pretty fun.
