this says mazda is bringing one in this year. huh

I'd hold-out for a SkyActive car.

Nephew is looking at Mazdaspeed3, and took me along for advice. That new engine management is slick. You'd hardly know it was doing anything unless you're really listening for it. If it wasn't FWD, I'd be tempted.

^^+1 The new CX5 gets 4.9L highway 7.1L city /100km seats 5 and tows 2000lbs on reg gas for ~20k new. I know there is one at the local dealer I plan on testing out.

nice catch. the articles always forget to mention that.

imperial would drop the 60 to 50: 60*0.83267384 = 49.96043040

http://www.hybridcars.com/fuels/hond...tsx-25245.html

looking at current marketing http://www.honda.co.uk/cars/accordsa...lspecification if you switch to manual urban mpg is listed as 64.2.

64.2*0.83267384 = 53.457660528

ive done 53 in the vw before but i had to follow a minivan

You can get a factory certified 335D for around $40k.

I drove one. Felt cheap and was heavy. Powerband was gay. Who likes a powerband to go weaksauce up top??????

congrats, but quick question:

is buying a new car a good feeling, even if it's a "boring car". I've only ever bought a couple cars new in my time and they've always been exciting, even my 2005 Jeep Wrangler.

This sounds more appealing.

But for that much money I could have a

built LS motor
big 'un turbo'd

RX7 for a daily driver.

Two of them.

That road is a blast. Leads to some of the funnest roads around here, like greenly hill.

You bought a vw?! Do you not love yourself? Is this some kind of punishment for something you've done in the past?

is it STICK SHIFT?

karter74 03-04-2012 04:16 PM

Did this car replace another car? I still can't comprehend how people can justify spending >$5k on an "economy" car they want for the mileage. A 10 year old Accord will probably be more reliable, get slightly less fuel economy, yet with the $25k saved, that buys a lot of gas.

Oh well. Car looks good, hope you enjoy it!

replaced a 22mpg 02 miata that needed min 1k in work to pass inspection (cat, both o2, something in abs). Yes I could have done most my self but owned 2 blue NBs so no real reason to keep both. Kept 99 track car and got a car I can haul stuff in.
