Default Thinking of trading in my NB for a 99+ corvette. Feedback?

Truth is my NB wont start bellow 0F. I've fogged up 2 WB sensors trying to tune it with no avail. Unfortunately I cannot afford 2 cars so having a winter car that starts in the winter is important for me. Been looking at 99+ Corvettes but never had any experience with them.

Recommend me **** or talk me out of it or whatever you want.

lol seriously? everyone wants a corvette now?

I think it would suck as a winter car, otherwise they're sweet. I'd get a later c5 if you want less little issues and problems. like 03-04

What kind of issues do you have in mind?

So far i'm searching the Corvette forum but it seems like most of those guys only go as far as recommending what color...

lol did you see the other guy's thread? it's like you guys are literally posting the same thing.

anyway, sensors, modules, solenoids were revised between the years. the intake box was changed/updated. just lots of stuff was updated/super-ceded with upgraded parts.

the car spins pretty hard too, and this is coming from someone in CA who rarely see's rain/snow so again, not sure how it would be a good winter car.

Get an 02-04 Z-06 if you plan on tracking it. One of the most indestructible engines ever built. I had an 09 C6 and it was totally reliable and my comparison is to Japanese cars, not other domestic cars.

Don't trade it in. Sell it to ME. Or someone else on here.

That's all. Just please don't trade it in.

If people would pay cash for it i definitely will. Hell i'll even throw in the summer rims and tires and of course all the stock parts if needed.

So I believe its time to revisit this thread. I've been looking at the c6 z06 but it looks like the 7L engines are notorious for dropping valves.

Dropped exhaust valves and the rocker arm issue are main concerns for the ls7 motor on the c6 z06.

i was in the market for a c6z with "heads addressed". Corvette is best bang for your buck, get it if your funds allow it.
Just either aim for a c6z with aftermarket heads or have had the heads checked. Don't go for a c6z with a new crate motor unless they solved the original problem and didn't just drop in a new motor with the same issue.

get an ls2 or ls3 c6 if you want crazy bang for buck and much improved overall from c5 without any of the engine problems.

they're crazy cheap for what you get

if I didn't need 4 seats I'd 100% be driving one now

Well i was looking at the local prices. the difference is about 3k which is ****. for 100 some horses its pointless to cheap out. the valves issue is a worry though.

I saw couple c6 base models. whats the difference between the c6 base and the z06 other than the engine?
