Hopefully he's doing some research right now.

Not sure if serious. C5 Corvettes are awesome but it sounds like you've got bigger issues than just WB02 sensor to deal with. Maybe get a winter beater instead and buy the Vette come spring time?

I liked your original post better, even if it's not MT.net making the suggestions.

Umm its the tunning as i said, the wideband is getting fucked up because of the bad combustion because it cant set it up for that cold. Questions?

Car starts perfectly fine with the stock ecu/injectors/etc. Currently i'm running on the stock ecu/injectors/maf etc with the wastegate opened up and it starts on the first try.

I sold my second miata for a vette.... you don't want to winter drive that car AT ALL unless you like death. That said, they're great cars overall and a great value as well, but I'm back in a miata again and happier overall. I DO miss the torque my z06 had, and I'll own one again at some point, but trading a daily miata for a daily vette probably won't make you happy in the long run. Both cars are meant to be toys, and both will do ok as an everyday car in stock form, but the vette eats up consumables like tires and brakes much faster than a miata and aftermarket stuff for them is dumb expensive

Well i daily my miata too. I run snow tires for the winter. Why does the vette eat tires and brakes faster?

Weight and speed mostly, I had always joked that I'd daily the vette on snows in the winter, I don't think it would have been a good idea. I got caught in an inch or so of snow coming home one evening and it was a harrowing experience to say the least. I've had a miata as a daily in the winters here without snow tires, and honestly all seasons did the trick most of the time. A Miata is a joy to drive in the snow if you ask me, add some winter tires and it would be amazing.

We had an '05 C6 for a short while. Bought it in '13 w/ mid 40k miles, got rid of it 9 months later after ~8k miles. Z51 w/ manual trans.

It wasn't a replacement for a Miata, but was my wife's DD, and was supposed to be our weekend GT car, and occasional HPDE car. When it was 'right' it was awesome... comfortable, fast, got great mileage, looked great. The problem was it was rarely 'right'.

In that time we had three major mechanical issues: cam gear bolts came loose, water pump, and cooling fan failure. Cam gear bolts were a PITA for a simple issue, mostly because of the packaging... the steering rack has to come out to remove the crank pulley and balancer. Water pump was easy... did it in my parent's driveway 400 miles from home on Christmas Eve with a $12 HF socket set. Water pump was $300... Cooling fan failure was a cut wire in the harness, that because of the location and protective shrouding had to have been done on the production line, intentionally... These may not seem like a big deal, but between the shop manual, special tools, and parts those repairs were over $2k, with me doing the labor.

It had numerous electrical issues... a bad injector connection, the memory seats had alzheimers, then the motors stopped working, random relay clicking from the ABS system while driving (not braking). The hatch would randomly pop open after locking the car while you were walking away. Randomly flashing Airbag lights due to a faulty seat harness. And so on...

What I learned working on it was that component and build quality sucked, and it was a PITA to work on.... tight packaging + some idiotic design decisions. I learned that the electrical components were junk... 8 year old car, and most of the plastic connectors were turning to powder. The plastic interior parts would break if you looked at them sideways. There's an aluminum support bracket for the radiator that also acts as a skid plate.... if it ever touches ground, it shatters... $200. All of the three I had looked like they were welded by monkeys... no weld penetration. The water pump I replaced was not the original, so it was on it's third at 52k miles. I didn't even get to the noisy torque tube bearings, or scratchy 2nd gear synchro....

I'm pretty sure ours was a lemon (and it was a first year car), but all of the problems I experienced were pretty well documented on the 'Vette forums. Most of the 'Vette owners I talked to in person that had never had problems had low mileage garage queens. Also, consumables are expensive, as noted above. A set of street tires will cost what a set of 15x9s and 200TW track tires for a Miata cost. And aftermarket parts are insanely expensive.

When it worked it was everything I wanted and expected it to be. Unfortunately it was a POS. We traded it off on a '13 Club PRHT and haven't looked back.

YMMV, but I wouldn't buy another 'Vette on a bet. While not as fast, our NC has been more enjoyable in almost every way.
