yeah, you do. the NC stuff is expensive. the market is small, costs are high (you have no idea what's involved in shipping goods from japan to atlanta), and the dollar is weak. you also see an NC exhaust that sounds good, isn't loud, and doesn't drone.

they're actually closer to (just over) $1000 now. the dollar continues to slip and SS continues to go up.

BTW, we are completely SOLD OUT and lead time is 1-2 months. So NC owners do not agree with your views.

They have some nice ****, wish it didn't cost so much to import, it's a shame there are not more of their parts on cars over here.
Only reason the prices seem high to us is because of the doller sucking donkey *****.

Expensive stuff for sure. But I have never known the miata.net crowd to be cheap about anything for their cars.

I would consider some sort of brace in all honesty, my car shakes so violently over bumps I feel its going to come apart sometimes.

My FM turbo duals cost me $800 when you add in the shipping, exchange, tax and brokerage fees,so $900 is not that bad for a exhaust, considering it's made in the land of the rising sun.

Some good lookin' parts there. Seems like Autoexe could be considered the "Mugen" of the Mazda market.

Stuff for newer cars is always more expensive.

RX8 parts are on par as far as prices go. There are cheaper parts (TurboXS, AEM, Ect) but then again, a lot of people pay for names.

What people don't realize is, the intakes & exhausts on the RX8 AND the NC are already really really good, and the only real way intakes are making power is by going to a smaller MAF pipe so the ECU leans **** up.

Aka big waste of money.

I've found that most NC owners have zero interest in functionality. Their only purpose is form. If the "form" manages to make a few hp in the process, that's almost a bad thing. Make that carbon-fiber **** out of ABS plastic, charge $100 instead of $945, and nobody would buy it. As for the NA CAI... for $774 you can buy a decent running NA for that much. It's absurd.

The Miata (aka MX5) gets heavier, more complex, more computers, more buttons, more automatic crap, more technology, more "comfort"... over time it's slowly lost its' soul. Starting in '00, you couldn't even get manual windows anymore. Because of that, at this point in my love-affair with this ******* car, there's no way I could buy anything newer than a '99

Wasn't the demographic for the '90 a 23yr-old female fresh-outa-college elementary school teacher? And with the NC, it's a 60yr-old freshly-retired-from-the-workforce male baby-boomer. How the hell did we get here?
