6 of 8 hours on the road was completed on this blown shock:

highway 69 in OK is bumpy as hell and I guess a couple hours of rhythm kill't it.

Something had to have been left loose.
I've been on the same shocks for 2+ years now.....

Dogpiling, but yeah, how would any lateral force be applied to the shaft unless one end or the other was shifting under load? How massive of a metallurgical defect would there have to be for it to shear in two under vertical force?

You are right. I didn't notice the color of the wheel well. I fail!
