today was the worst day at work. I work in a kitchen and since the chef went on vacation the rest of us have to pick up all these extra hours to make sure everything gets done, since the soux chef is new he cant do all of it. So today, after 3 14 hour days in a row, i get out of work after only 6 hours. so im sitting down catching my breath and having a milkshake that one of the take out kids brought me. then i go to the bathroom, when i come back i have a sip of my shake only to find out that this douche bag takeout manager who doesnt like the cooks had filled my shake with vinegar because she made it for the soux chef but he wasnt around so i took it. I dont know if any of you work in a restraunt but if theres one rule to follow its DONT PUT **** IN PEOPLES FOOD. I totally flipped out, started yelling and got in her face, i said "if you were a guy id ******* whack you!" they sent me home. What a load of crap, i hope i dont lose my job.

 

Well I dont work in a restaurant but even though I have to agree that the rule NOT TO PUT **** IN PEOPLES FOOD is a very good rule. Im gonna pass that on to my wife.

Better Vinegar than urine. I think I've seen much worse. I was a manager for upscale Steak & Lobster houses for years. Ever had a cardboard omelete? TASTY, but hard to eat.........

its so retarded, i cant stand it when people do that stuff. If chef wasnt on vacation she would have been fired on the spot. When im a chef, im gonna regulate HARD. fun is fun, but business is business.

Sounds just like my last cooking job 100+ hours of work get paid for 30-34 hours and worke 14-17 hours aday somedays i would get there at 7 am and not leave until after midnight becouse of all the little things they do i loove ot cook but there is no money in it this is why i went into printing. i hope you find something that works for you as well resteraunts cna be a good learning experience but a career as a cook is hard to make stick. best of luck.
