Default Turbo Miata Vs. 96 Grand Sport

I asked Y8s this earlier and am now wondering what other people think.

My brother has a completely stock beautiful 96 GrandSport Corvette.
He like to pick on me for loving Miatas.

his times are : 0-60@ 4.8 and 1/4mile@ 13.2

is it possible for a turbo'd Miata to meet/beat those times?

can yours? know someone with a Miata that can?

It's more than possible for a Miata to beat those times.

It's not a question of possibility. It's simply a question of money.

That corvette is a slow turd....
...anyone with a proper boosted miata would laugh at that corvette.

Your brother is a retard

220whp and you'll already be even with him if not pulling away.
250+ and you will straight embarrass him

I'm not trying to *****... just trying to get the kid to buy it. Too much POWAAAHHHHH for a daily driver, i want something boring and slow for a DD, like... an NA Miata or something. Or maybe another MSM.

Anything over half throttle in 3rd gear goes up in smoke from a roll. Something about 20-22psi through a torquey truck-motor-based 2.2.

You know how there's "Smooth and Classy?" I like to call this: Fast and Trashy.

It ain't pretty, but it's dead nuts reliable, been my daily driver for the last 3 years. Gets 36mpg on the highway. Fly out to Indy, drive it home.

My Miata put down 245whp on FM's dyno. The MX6 forcefully anally rapes it. (Literally, the tailpipe on the MSM is all loose and sloppy now. It dribbles.)

Naturally aspirated 1.8 Miata with skinny slicks:

Was run as pictured on the very same evening.

Now, don't you think a turbo would get you the other .18 second it would take to beat the vette?
