A treefiddy does fit the bill nicely actually. I don't hate them other them not having a manual option.

They're really nice. But at 3700lb, and not that much torque, its gonna feel sluggish after the CTS-v....But definitely very nice. I'm, not seeing them for 15k though, 20 would be the minimum for a clean title and low mile well kept one, but most are higher.

I drove a G35 coupe on a lark when exploring options and it drove pretty much as I would expect a BMW 3 series to drive. I'm sure my test drive wasn't enough to get a complete impression, but I ended up liking it a lot.

Mazda 6? Stock with the V6 is 272HP, and I know how you love to tune. We all know how reliable Mazdas are and how they drive.

Why not? Be different.

Have you considered getting a CTS-V?

I literally can't even tell what is SRS and what isn't in this thread at this point.

Nope. Mazdas have been some of the best cars I've ever owned. All about supporting them so we can have NDs and NEs.

I agree that it's not in the same category as BMWs/CTS-Vs from the "cha-ching" standpoint. But, why not show that there's more to oneself than showing off? Like I said, be different. I love taking my Miata out to track days and driving with Ferrarris and McLarens. I chuckle when they go off-track.

Jason asked specifically for nice-driving, ~300HP, reliable cars. Mazda 6 fits that bill. It's FWD, but I'll bet the Mazda engineers did a great job of masking that from the driver. They are all about driving dynamics. The last Mazda 6 I saw had an incredibly nice interior too.

Not sure what to say besides the IS-F above, CTS Vs are pretty dang good. I would have bought a crate LS2 or ~$4k ish, swapped the long block and been happy as a clam as I drove it the next 200k. Really, traded it for an '06 BMW? Huh I would have thought that more expensive than the CTS.

I am a bit. It's obviously not in the same category as a dedicated V8, RWD luxury-performance sedan.

Went over to the Mazda booth at COTA during the ALMS race weekend last month. Snooping around for ND info (none to be had). They had one of the new Mazda 6s there with the SkyActive stuff. Loaded. Seriously nice interior. I was surprised. So, what the heck. Threw it out there. Sue me!

Except the new 6 has only one engine available: the 2.5 Skyactiv with 185hp , no more v6 option.

The last-gen Mazda 6 sucked and will not be discussed further.

As for other ideas... Do you need 4-doors? The newer GTOs are a frigging bargain......

Yes, it was awful compared to the ones that came before and after it. Granted, I haven't driven the V6 version but the 4-cylinder model was as bland as any Camry or Accord. Also, the styling was bulbous and ungainly to the eyes of most.
