I installed a downpipe on a mk6 gti last night. First time I have ever dealt with v bands. It has the traditional mount at the turbo and then the center exhaust section is held in by two v band clamps. I had one hell of a time getting them aligned. They weren't exactly flat, so no matter their orientation, I couldn't get them to be without a gap. The gap was small, however I could see light on the other side.

We couldn't hear any leaks. Will the clamps pull that gap closed after some heat cycles? Gap was maybe 1/32-1/64

 

Warped **** never gets better. Send it back to whoever warped it.
