My mom always had a Kirby, the things were bulletproof (and heavy). My ex bought a Rainbow back in the '90's (she never told me how much it was), it did a good job but it was a PITA because it used a water-filled canister to collect the dirt and provide the seal for a good vacuum. You can imagine what happens when you put dirt into water.
Myself, I prefer the old style canister vacs that use bags. They suck up things pretty well (currently have a Hoover in the proper shade of maroon). My wife bought some Bissell bagless that was advertised as being for pets (it has some felt type bar at the front to collect hair) but it's almost as much of a PITA to empty out properly as the Rainbow was. And I'm the only one in the house that does that. |
From what I've gathered on mt.net, pusha sucks better than any of those other vacuum cleaners.
And no bags to change! |

Dyson Animal at home. Girlfriend has a Kirby Sentria. The Sentria is great all all, but several times the price and much more difficult to use in tight spaces compared to the Dyson. They both do a decent job of vacuuming, but the Sentria does the steamyz.

Sweet nunchucks bro.

I have a Miele S2111, it's great for a garage or apartment but doesn't have a power head. It is awesome considering the price. For a big house with lots of carpet I wouldn't recommend it though.

fuck yeah a 3 page thread on vacuum cleaners on miataturbo.
dyson. wait for it to come up on WOOT.com and just get whatever model they have. because who the fuck cares if it's white or purple or yellow? |
it was cheaper to buy the yellow and the get the attachments that come with the animal seperately....

I have an old Dyson I bought used from a vacuum repair shop. Would buy again.

If you want to really freak yourself out, run your Dyson over your bare mattress the next time you change your sheets.
Don't say I didn't warn you... :ugh2: |

Don't say I didn't warn you... :ugh2: for anyone who may be interested, I found a pink Victoria's Secret thong under my bed, it's a small size so it's probably only good for sniffing. hit me up if you want it. |

I've got one of the Kirbies that came from my grandmother's house - apparently the Kirby salesmen liked to swing by frequently and sell her a new one because she could never remember that she already had a couple in her hall closet. Fuckers. Anyhow, it's the best thing I've ever used (never used a Dyson). Not sure I'd buy one new since they cost about the same as a beater NA, but my free one sucks like a champion Kazakhstani whore.
I've also got a cheapo Panasonic canister vac for the wood floors. My only requirement was that it had to have a retractable cord, and it was the cheapest one at Fry's that did. It sucks up cobwebs, dog hair, crumbs, dog hair, dirt, dust, and dog hair like a pro. |
