Default Vent: summit racing = rip off

Check out the attached order summary for a couple of AN fittings. Summit brags about thier free shipping, yet charges $9.95 handling for 8oz. of parts, but then they really bend the customer over by charging $5.30 for ordering a backordered part. And if that's not bad enough, the backorder charge is more than the part. Customer really has to watch that order preview before sending the order in case they've snuck something in... bastards.

they didn't charge you $5.30 to order the part. $5.30 is the total of the backordered part & sales tax. which they will charge you later, when the part comes in. they actually did the honorable thing by not charging you for a part that isn't in stock.

the only shady part I see is that they are charging tax on the handling charge... that, and they're calling the shipping charge a handling charge, then adding tax to it.

That is why I wait and order several things from them at once. The $9.95 handling fee is BS. I also don't have to pay tax here in TN because there is not a Summitt Racing retail store in my state.

yeah, missed that total total total. They should call it a "mishandling" charge.

i drive by scummit racing twice a day, its nice not to have to pay for shipping an handeling. the prices at the store are almost always(well somtimes) lower than the catalog prices. somtimes they do have some great deals on scratch and dent. its to bad they are geting rid of most of the sport compact stuff.

summit racing is like the Sam's Club of performance parts, if you have american muscle. the store is very impressive to go into.

Reminds me of Ticketmaster's "convenience" charge, which they levy on you for driving there to buy your tickets.
