Nope, Don't know how they are calculating the online votes, but I'm fairly certain that JC got 100 points from his lap time and Andrew got 90 for being second fastest.

Unfortunately they don't explain how the scoring is done. Will the timed portion be done off the timing or finishing position? Same with the online voting? Is it numbers, percentages, etc.? Wish the formula used was spelled out somewhere but I can't find it. I guess if it was it would take away the drama with the anouncement of the winner.

Also if it isn't spelled out clearly they can simply manipulate it to get the winner they want. Wait. did I just say that out loud? Sorry...

Last day to vote!

If the scoring is based on the poll position and not total number of votes Sav is likely screwed if the subie comes in 2nd. What if we pump up the vette a little so the subie finishes 3rd in online voting? Wouldn't be cheating would it?!? LOL

my last vote #1678

i've got a bad feeling that regardless of voting, they are going to pick the "fancy looking" car for their booth. sav, get some fancy vinyl work and send them pics!

If that's the case, then (75)100 + (25)90 > (75)90 + (25)100

Problem is how the scoring will be done. If you get 100pts for first, 90 for second and so on and online voting only counts for 25% he loses regardless of the gap from 1st and second. That's why I'm saying maybe the vette needs to finish second. He's about 150 votes out of second right now. I think it's the only chance he has is for the subie to drop a position unless they take the absolute blowout in the voting into consideration.

My guess at the voting is 100 for 1st, 90 for second, 80 for 3rd, etc. That's why he's currently 10 points behind the Subie. If it's the same scoring method for online it works out this way...

TT 1st 100 pts x .75 = 75
TT 2nd 90 pts x .75 = 67.5
TT 3rd 80 pts x .75 = 60

Online vote 1st 100 pts x .25 = 25
2nd 90 x .25 = 22.5
3rd 80 x .25 = 20

Doesn't look good in any scenario with that method but with the STI in 3rd it could only help.

(75)100 + (25)80 > (75)90 + (25)100

If that's how it's scored, and popularity goes miata, vette, subbie, then savington still loses.
So just vote for Savington. It's more honest to boot.

Thanks, guys. We knew going into it that they may end up doing the scoring in a manner that would make it essentially impossible to win, so we decided to just gather as many votes as possible. They have not told us how they will score the voting part, so there's still hope.

Posting this from the hotel at Thunderhill - Nick is driving my car in SCCA's ITE (unlimited) class. Qualified 4th today. I'd like to see some of the other time attack cars go 30 minutes.

On one hand, they scored the other one 100-90-80-70. On the other hand, I have three times the number of votes of the second place car...
