Vote me and my car into SEMA and Super Lap Battle
Website is still accepting votes. Don't know if they took the numbers yesterday and just forgot to shut it down or not.
However it goes, good job. I'm sure many more opportunities will come along.

If the math worked out the way I thought, the subie finishing fourth online would have been a tie.
100pts 1st, 90 2nd, 80 3rd, 70 4th, etc. Subie 1st in tt 100 pts x .75 = 75. 4th in online voting 70 pts x .25 = 17.5 for a total of 92.5. Savington 2nd in tt 90 x .75 = 67.5. 1st online 100 x .25 = 25 for a total of 92.5 pts.
Figured out he was screwed, unless the subie finished lower, too late.
We tried, Sav's team tried. Good job. We'll just have to play dirty next time!

I was under the impression that the more votes, the better chance he would have, while in reality, it was just who comes in 1st, 2nd, or 3rd, etc. Cueball's math is correct. Strategic voting could have gotten Meynet in 3rd, but it would have been difficult to get a tie by having him come in at 4th, as 4th place had only 186 votes.
EDIT: However, Andrew did have a surplus of ~1100 votes. Nvm I guess it would have been relatively easy to get a tie, if people were informed.
Either way, good try Savington

Feel free to tell him what you think. I am going to have to think long and hard about whether I want to enter something like this again.

The time attack that you would have gone into. Is that like an invite only type of deal or what? Would the Subaru have had the means to enter anyway, while you might not have? Would be nice to see more things like this where only true ametuers (sp?) are allowed to enter and compete for an invite to a semiprofessional competition.
the percentages are fail; must not have graduated high school.
The winner of the track points would have to place at most 6th for votes for the 2nd place track car to have a chance at winning, this is assuming he got all the online vote points like you. He's pretty much gaurenteed the win. Third place car has no chance, the track points winner would have to win at most 30pts for votes...
So why bother with the online votes anyways, they used you as a way to get foot traffic, you obviously got the most support; 300% more.

OK>...that's fucked up.
That's like all the straight A kids here taking the dinner invites/interviews/field trips with companies I want to work with when they have no intention of working there and already have an internship. Why the hell would you slam the door on someone else when you've already got one open?
I WILL be sending an email now.

David damn near beat Goliath.
I think you should be proud of your accomplishment.
Under no circumstance should someone who already has an invite have been allowed to enter the competition. Who cares about SEMA, its the race that gets you the chance to truly get exposure.
Ah, that is messed up. The invite should be passed down to the next car that does not already have invitation.
Don't agree. In my shooting leauge, winner of class for each competition receives a pistol. But if you've already won a pistol in that class that year, then the first runner-up gets the pistol (unless he already got one for the year, in that case it gets passed down again). I won a pistol at my first competition ever last year. Still showed up and shot at the rest.
