Supersonic Rocket Car Aims For 1,000 MPH | Autopia from Wired.com

Simple, sit in a "a 42-foot-long missile powered by a rocket bolted to a jet engine." Also has a v12 in it for added umph.

Please put me on your life insurance policy/will first.

That man is insane...and that is an amazing project...I'd really like to see if they can do it in 3 years.

I am in awe of anything that uses an 800HP V12 engine as a fuel pump.

I hope they succeed, but I dont see how a car can go that fast without something really bad happening.

While it would be a feat if they accomplish this, I have a hard time considering anything a "car" if the wheels aren't driven.

Valid point, its probably more of a aircraft than a car, but still very badass. It would take real ***** to pilot/drive that thing.

I still love "ThrustSSC", which looks like these guys' last project. I love the way that thing looked.

The author of that article obviously doesn't understand the difference between a "missile" and a "rocket"...
