So my FIL finally bought a new Porsche. He has been driving 911's since '71 when he got back from Nam as his only and daily car.
He bought this one in 2000 with all the bells and whistles, leather everything,C4, blah blah. Yeah I know its a 996 and all but I like it and its very fun to drive. Told him 10 years ago if the dealer gives him a horrible trade in then I would buy it....well it came true, cause the 996 prices are in the gutter. 69k on it.

And Dad's new one. drool

Oh and wifes wheels painted and repaired...thanks to Goodyear for fing them up and paying for it

From: Chicago. (The less-murder part.)
I've never driven one, but from the specs and cosmetics, it's easily one of my favorite models.
(Well, aside from the headlights. But whatcha gonna do?)

IMS is more of an issue with the boxters. 911's are about a 1% failure rate, not too bad.
I will be changing it soonish anyway because the seals on them suck also.
I really didn't know what the fuss was about but love how this car drives.
