I have 2 TI-99/4As in the basement, one of which still even has the box.

Toshiba Satellite, don't know the exact model number but 1.8 GHz w/ 1 GB RAM. It's about 3 years old. It runs the software just great, but the battery life is not impressive.
At the track I have used Palmlog on a IIIxe. It works great for logging, and it can be secured pretty well in the map pocket on the door. The only way it's going anywhere is if I have a serious off-track excursion, in which case I have bigger things to worry about than a $10 (disposable) Palm Pilot. Only downside is that after logging in burst mode, it can take a while to transfer the logs to the laptop for tuning with MLV.

Heh! Why not a C64SX for the car?
My CarPC is a Fujitsu Stylistic tablet. It's a 128MB P3 running Win2k:
If I were doing it over today, I'd get an Eee 901 and do a touchscreen conversion. The Stylistic is ultra-convenient 95% of the time, but having a keyboard would be nice every now and then.

Just a side note, MS might work with this, but I had a hell of a time with the Hydra software. I don't remember what the stock resolution was, but all of the gauges on the bottom were cut off and I had to hide the taskbar so the program wouldn't crash due to the small screen size. I eventually sent it back and I just use my huge Inspiron 9300 (17") screen when I need to do some tuning. Finally bought a power inverter from Frys and it is now useful in the car again!
