Homemade card, dinner, and several massage certificates for some high quality massage parlor. Bitches LOVE massages.

Track day in your car might be a nice thing for some other time, but it might be like buying her a toolset for christmas or some other masculine thing she won't fully appreciate.

That is what women really want, but only from a man who buys her diamonds. No woman wants her eggs fertilized by a hand-made-card-making beta male like that pansy in the TV commercial. That cute **** might get you laid, but it's out of pity and her desperation to not be sexless for Christmas, not because she desires to bear the fruit of your inferior loins.

Four years is waaaay beyond that cheesy stuffed teddy bear Hallmark bullshit. The real question is, you gonna marry this girl or what? If yes, then diamond earrings. You don't need a carat for each ear if you're still poor college students. You could probably get away with spending a tad more than that track day you were thinking of getting her. It's the symbolism that matters. Rocks show that you're serious, and chicks love that. It also says "I lack the creativity to come up with other cutesy little beta male ideas for presents, but you'd better get used to it, woman." OTOH, if she isn't "the one" or you're still wishy-washy about it, then for cryin out loud do NOT give her diamonds for Christmas.

If not diamonds, then you'd better stop slacking and come up with something really choice. My wife is a girly girl, she loves massages, spa days, just about any gift of general pampering, or a gift card for any store that sells designer shoes. Being a girly girl, she doesn't much care for my car or the time I spend on it. If yours in interested in track days and even helps you tune, then you should get her diamond earrings.

Spa certificate. A service like that is better than any gift you could buy.

These are both valid ideas, however may I suggest that you begin with Tiffany's and end with surprise ----. It will work out better for you that way.

BTW, the correct answer indeed is anything from Tiffany's. It doesn't matter what; everything comes in the box.

If she'll use it.

I did that once, and she never actually went and used it. They usually expire after a year.

Just pick up a Tiffany's box off ebay and then put whatever jewelry you got in it. Remember it is the thought that counts.

Don't do that.

Tiffany's jewelry doesn't just come with the box. They also have Tiffany's script tissue paper and a Tiffany Blue satchel. Plus a lot of the Tiffany stuff has their name on it somewhere.

if she finds out, she will be hurt. If the thought is what counts then be honest and original.

There's your gift. "babe, I promise not to take marriage advice from gospeed81. Merry Christmas."

she'll think: "He does love me!"

lol

*******

I will say that I explicitely told my wife NOT to get me anything, and that I wasn't gonna fish for car parts either.

I then proceeded to find every item she's hinted at over the past few months.

If you pay attention...she will know.

I already gave her an anniversary gift (couldn't wait til tomorrow), and she loved it. It wasn't jewelry, but I put it in a jewelry box. She was still happy when she pulled the engraved iPod out...but she still hit me.

Um, I read this over, and I think the most important thing is:

If you get something that is for her, it should really be for her interests. There were some good general ideas, that make good presents... but the best one is something that she really wants and doesn't know it yet. The perfect gift is one that is perfect for her, and no one else... and you should know who she is more than anyone else in the world.

This year I got my girlfriend a one of a kind necklace... because of her interests. Gears, steampunk, mythology, flight, blue gems... It's just her. That doesn't apply to anyone else, really.

For us to be truly helpful, I think we should get naked pics.

And don't just put her name on it, or something generic...an "I love you" may work...but you can say a lot more.

I put:

"A ti, manzana, quiero celebrarte"

which means:

"I want to celebrate you, my apple"

It's the intro of a 1956 Pablo Neruda poem which is a very sensual description of enjoying an apple. She likes the poem, and I remembered it from a few years back. Surprised the hell out of her.

It's also kind of funny since the bitten apple is right below it. I did take a bite out of that apple later that night.

We've been together a little over four years as well.
