Why doesnt he just swap in it himself...he prob knows **** about mechanics. I would do it myself, or get someone to help me and then put that 5 grand somewhere else maybe into the 94...what a dummy.

He might reconsider if someone clued him in that there's no difference between a 99-00 engine and the MSM engine (other than the MSM prolly has fewer miles).

There are a few differences in the MSM motor vs the 99-00 motor. Cams are different (I just looked at a set Friday), as well as a handful of variances. Not sure if the block has the MBSP (I'd assume it would), which the 4W won't have.

$5k is a bit steep for the parts listed, but you guys need to keep in mind the total comes with the engine assembly, clutch, 6 spd, 3.90 TorsenII with larger axles, etc etc. All with 6k miles on it. Leave the MSM ecu and harnesses, knock $1000-1500 off the price, and IMO it's an attractive package.

I'll re-phrase: it's not $5,000 different.

Take away at least $2k for the 6 speed and MSM Torsen swap. Take away $1k for the MSM ecu, sensors, and harnesses. That leaves $2k for the motor with turbo. Haggle it down a little bit and it's pretty reasonable actually.

I would do something like make an offer at $3500, and tell them to keep the ecu, harnesses, and sensors.

I fail to find the article, but I remember reading somewhere the MSM had some low end forged pistons in it?

Instead of calling him a loser, why not point out the error of his ways?

doesn't address the clutch, trans, or rear.

Plus don't disregard the fact that the MSM rear uses larger axles.

Hes got a 94+ i thought? So hes already got the rear to handle the power. The ideal ratio? maybe not

I haven't heard of alot of hald shafts breaking.

And the 6 speed :( thppptt i wouldn't want it.

I wasn't talking about you, I was talking about the OP. He spent the time and effort to start this thread, when he could have posted on m.net something like "consider that a BEGI kit will cost a lot less and will make more power". He called him a loser instead of ignorant, which would have been fair.

Again it isn't anyones responsibility (use magna 's name if you want to talk to him, thats why its there) Its a open forum. Take it to PM if you have a problem.

Being ignorant makes you a loser.
