what's a good price for this car?
i'm looking into buying this wholesale trade in at work..... it's a 1993 240sx se
here's the details...
interior = mint
exterior = very nice for it's age, NO RUST, a bit faded but I'm a painter, what do I care?
engine = has 150k, but seems to sound great, has one noise that I am told is a guide for the timing chain that wears and makes a knocking sound (all my mechanic buddies said the same thing). otherwise in great shape, also it's the twin cam.
tranny = 5spd shifts nice, no problems I can tell.
car is UNMODDED, completely stock and it seems it has always been that way
It seems to me that it has been exceptionally well taken care of.
what would you pay? I'm looking at 1500 plus what it costs for inspection, tags, and title..... Fair? Great deal? stay away?
If I get the car it would be a daily driver (at least until the engine gives up or something), I'd try to keep myself from putting aftermarket stuff on it, as I need to concentrate on the miata!

$1500 sounds like a steal for that car.
Removing the upper chain guide is super easy and should be done asap. I waited too long to remove it on mine and it cost me a timing chain and some bent valves.

I figure worst case scenario, i'll re-sell it and make a buck.
it'll allow me to spend more time with the miata torn apart, and only cost me like a hundred bucks a month

I'll find out tomorrow how much inspection is going to run..... think I'll probably get hit for brakes, tension rods, and wipers (or something else stupid)
most likely I'll end up paying around 2 for it, which ain't half bad. Any more than that and I'll eat the inspection fee and wait for something else cool
