Disregard the tools, I don't care about those. I'd pick through them, save anything decent, and toss/donate the rest.

What's the box itself worth? If it's in decent shape, this has got to be better than dropping $200 at Sears, right?

That is a good price as long as it is not filled with a bunch of junk tools if it has some decent tools and some ok tools its a good deal. The box itself I wouldn't pay more than $200 for with no tools.

 

A decent box like that is almost worth half what he's asking, maybe $200 in good shape. I wouldn't put up with sliding drawers that catch or squeal though.

After that tools are a bonus.

 

Yeah, if the drawers worked perfectly.

Looking at the condition of the tools, however, I wouldn't get my hopes up about the condition of the drawer rollers and rails.

 

If it doesn't have ball bearing sliders, I wouldn't give you $20 for it. Judging by the state of the tools in it, and that the box appears to be pretty neglected I would imagine the whole thing is a POS. Check out the boxes that Costco sells, I'd buy one of those before this train wreck.

Keep an eye out, in this failing economy lots of tools up for sale.
