Default What's a very upgraded Greddy car worth?

Got a line on a 1990 with a very upgraded greddy kit. FMIC, FM Link, HDHCSD roll bar w/ harness bar, 94 brakes, 94 tranny, 94 torsen rear, 2 1/2" stainless turbo back, Centerforce clutch, RB sways, Koni's and lot's more. It was a track and autocross toy but very well maintained. 130k total about 20k pressurized.

What should I have a shop look at? What are the biggest concerns? The $3500 he wants seems like a screaming deal but it has been used hard.

Sounds like a deal to me. Even if you have to rebuild the motor and replace the tranny later on.

Ben, just noticed your sig. 255 out of a greddy? Holy schnikies. This guys dyno tuning for 92 octane showed 189whp at 12psi. Sound about right for an fmic greddy with 2.5" exhaust?

Sounds weak, but would depend on what dyno and what altitude.

That sounds like a good deal to me. If/when it breaks you could part it out and make a decent amount off of it. Or if the engine broke you could build it and have one hell of a car for cheap. I'd buy it.

If you want a local shop to take it to that knows Miatas Adrenaline Racing is in Lake Oswego and Eddie is pretty knowledgeable.

I think I got 4500 for my 90 with body damage and about 170k on it.

Agent.

Thanks! I'm familiar with Eddie. Bought some parts from them and spent some time with them on track days. The car isn't in the Portland area or I wouldn't have bothered asking about what to look for on the forum. I'd have to fly out, drive back. Seems like a hell of a deal if the cars not trashed. It's got a ton of upgrades. Just about everything a guy would want to do to have a nice driveable car that would do real well on the track. Of course that was what it was built for.

I don't think I could lose on this. Just have to figure the logistics of having a shop give it a quick once over and flying out to get it. Missed out on a decked out 2000 FM2 car similarly upgraded for cheap by not getting my act together quick enough.

Philip. That's what I wanted to hear. I looked through the classifieds here and it looks like similar cars are 5-7K. If you got 4500 for a rough car I'll be in good shape on this one.

Ben,

Don't know what dyno but it was pretty much sea level. Conservative tune maybe? Seems like pretty much everything has been upgraded but maybe he's still got the crappy greddy dp on it. I didn't ask specifically about the DP. Couple hundred and that's easily taken care of?
