Really its NOT so much about the car. I hated the car. I'm glad it happened only because now I'm not driving it anymore. lol

Its more so the PRINCIPLE that I work crazy amounts of hours and had my whole entire ---- fucked up by losing my mode of transportation. The guy could give 2 shitz about any of it. I should rename this thread to "when to give up".

The miata has a few issues with it, but the one keeping it off the road is just the heater hose. Literally a $15 fix and 15 minutes of my time. Its all the other things though, along with that which keep me unmotivated from working on it.

Today after we got done stripping forms I had to go back to the shop and service 2 of our trucks. All my wrenching time is spent either on the company vehicles or someone else's that's not my own. lol

Please don't take this as a personal attack, but The Principle, so far as I can tell, is that the landlord hasn't been particularly negligent (insofar as the destruction of the car is concerned) and yet all you seem focused on is setting yourself up for a lawsuit / collections and/or beating the **** out of someone.

Sorry his insurance didn't cover a fat check for you. Should have checked that before you moved in. Such a negligent tenant.

Joe, if anything, I just wanted something from the guy. I wasn't looking for money per say, but at least for him to take SOME kind of responsibility.

The situation I'm in here is pretty in depth and would be too much to try and explain. In a gist, all I'd like to do is pay my rent and live happily ever after. Just seems like soon as something comes up that's HIS responsibility, he puts it off for months at a time but still expects that check every 1st of the month.

In haste I ASSUMED it was his responsibility to do something about the tree that hit our cars, and I was wrong. I understand that. So what about the branches that are still hanging over us? Picture a section of woods with a small cutout for a little lodge in the middle of all the trees.....that's where I live. Except for directly about the roof, there's trees everywhere. Many of which are damaged from the storm.

Who are you again?

Any of the regulars on here know I'm probably the LAST person on earth that wants any handout. If anything, having the loser that lives here with chainsaw come to clean up the mess would have been a nice start.

Come pour some concrete with me and I'll show you some ----- ---- boo.

I understand. And from what you've said, I'm sure the landlord is, to some extent, an asѕhole.

All I am saying is that you need to recognize the fact that, in some ways, the law is biased in favor of the landlord, and that simply walking away from your lease and/or beating the ѕhit out of him is not going to benefit you in the long run.

If you realistically wish to pursue recourse against him it's going to cost you both time and money in the form of legal representation and appearances in court. By contrast, if you break your lease and move out, he can make your life unpleasant and damage the credit rating which I know you have been trying to build simply by making one phone call to a collections agency.

With that in mind, it may be in your own self-interest to not provoke him and fulfill the terms of your lease agreement.
