In the past, the best way I have found to motivate myself was through a bet/challenge. I used this method on my "ultimate lightness mod":

(of course, I have gained every bit of that weight back <G>)
Anyone want to got toe to toe (gut to gut) with me this time? I'll create a topic for it on my Lightweight Miata Forum - http://www.lightweightmiata.com/forum/ - and we can do it just for bragging rights or maybe put a small amount ($5, $10, etc) on it.

I should loose 10-15. I need to get a bike (the kind you peddle); I still can't run.
I'm actually already in one with a friend of mine. Which I will lose for sure, since its easier to lose alot when you have alot to lose and you arn't lifting 4-5 times a week HEH
I would do it depending on the amount of weight I need to lose
I think a better thing would be a body fat % contest. Cause uh, losing weight isn't necessarily the best.. losing body fat % is. Gaining muscle while losing weight will raise your total metabolic rate slightly, but enough that it helps.
Either way, if either of you need exercise plans or nutritional advise.. I'll be glad to help

In for bodyfat %
currently at 21% according to army measurements (neck, waist)
But will try for weight as well. Was 197 before appendectomy, trying to lose 20 lbs. (5'11")

OOPS, I put the incorrect link for my new forum. The correct link is:
http://www.lightweightmiata.com/forum/
The weightloss thread is:

I'm looking to drop from 164 to 150. When I drop the 14 pounds I'm going to buy myself XBox 360 as a present (Halo 3 and the next GTA are coming out soon)!

I'll make a bet with ya... $5 I'm currently 6"2 205ish but I lift. I'm going to be cutting down soon so don't be surprised if you notice I lose 10-15 lbs in the first month.
