Why am I slowly killing myself trying to build my 99 when I could just drop $15K to buy this 91 and be done with it?

He starts with this ad:

Miata, 91 25K in fancy stuff

and follows up with this detailed piece:

Miata 1991, all the bells and whistles, burn rubber at a 100

 

When are we handing out the "Most descriptive CL ad EVVVVVVEEEEEERRRR" award?

Some people don't understand the interweb very well...

 

So I e-mailed the guy telling him that I loved how descriptive he was in his CL ad so much that I was ready to send him a check and fly out to pick it up right away, he responded with: "give me your fax number so I can send you the mods" so of course I had to keep going. I responded to that with "no I already told you that you can consider it sold, I loved how descriptive you were and fell in love with the car at first...read"

Now he's concerned I might be a scammer and wants to wait for the check to clear before I pick the car up. I asked if I could send him a check, fly to his house, and sleep in the car until the check clears, waiting on his reply now

 

Stein: Thats in Overland Park, where I live. Send him an email and get his address... I wanna go photgraph this 25k$ beast...

He told me by email that his fax is broken and that I should call for a list of the mods and "I'll read them to you." I declined and wrote back, "All I'm asking is what makes this car so fast -- turbocharger, V8 conversion, etc.?" .... he wrote back to me, "Super turbocharger"... LOL, I didn't waste my time beyond that.

 

He finally responded that I was more than welcome to fly in and sleep in the car until my check cleared...what an ***..

 

This is what I got just now trying to pry details out of him:

"Call me, I will tell you all about it--supercharged to max."

 

Haha.

I'd like to roll up to his house in an LSx converted Miata..

Finally told me he's 73, knows nothing about cars, and his "motor guy" will e-mail me today
