Personally, I’ll take the rigid class structure and seriousness of Autocross over the completely lax wine and cheese local Miata club any day. :bigtu:
At least when I am at an Autocross, I'm enjoying myself and actually DRIVING my sports car in an actual sport instead of sitting in a parking lot talking about how "nice" or "shiny" or how "great" it is to drive to and from a grocery store.

This post really wasn't aimed at anyone on this board, just had to vent about local club bullshit. :)
Personally, I hate people who take Autocross TOO seriously, but I hate anyone who takes anything too seriously, so whatever.

When Divisionals or the National tour come to Houston, a bunch of the old timers break out the beer and hard liquor and sit around and get shit faced at the end of the event and talk about all sorts of stuff.
Not exactly the same, but the social aspects don't escape some of the people in these events.

Our local club is quite social, maybe your local guys are having parties but not telling you about them.

Possibly, I am an asshole.

It's ok, the drifters and roadracers are more fun anyway. :bigtu:

I cant believe that you guys are saying your events go on that long. Here the scca events start at 7 and end at 6 but half the people run work in the morning, the others in the after noon.

So if i run the am i am gone by 1. If i run the afternoon I am there around 12 and go home around 4:30~5
