My XBOX 360 is about two years old. It's the "arcade" version, and I'm still running w/o a hard drive. No problems at all.

Best feature is seamless integration with windows media player. I'm not even using Windows Media Center edition, just plain ole XP. I download media to the PC, and it just magically shows up on the XBOX.

XBox1 (not a 360). Hack it and use it as a media center. Free online game play and free games. Spend $100 total for the best damn entertainment/media system in the world. No, you can't play the latest games on it but who cares. EVERY game is old after a month or two.

I had 4 XBox1's, sold them and bought 4 360's. Couldn't take it and bought another XBox1 for all the media stuff. Haven't used it lately but you just can't beat all that it can do. Hacking it is relatively easy.

if you have a DNLA type media server set up, the PS3 will do that too. I watch my current season top gears that way.

This is something here that I 100% agree with. I compare the 360 and its online play to those of us here who are track whores. Its more fun even if you spend more money doing it and stuff keeps breaking down...I say go for the 360. Especially if you're going for simulators and first person shooters. 360 has much better of both of those. Believe you me, if you like sims and FPS, you will eventually like online play and get into xbox live. I promise

Thats retarded. Why buy an old system to play old games. Don't buy a PS3, just get a PSX, its cheaper and has games. Who cares if they aren't modern games... :facepalm:

xbox 360 ftmfw. Mainly for the online play, amount of new and old games, its cheaper than ps3, and pc integration.

just get a monster PC rig with a nice wireless keyboard and mouse. We all know PC gaming is far superior. =P

I think it was more to make the thread broad and useful for more people who may look at this in the future. So MAYBE someone else won't make another thread like this and will actually search. High hopes, but not likely.

yeah online play is one big bonus of the xbox, but like I said cost is another benefit. You can get games for super cheap on ebay, buy like a lot of 20 games for 100 bucks.

i've had my ps3 3 years now and love it had one fry but returned it through the 2 year coverage i had and have had no problems what so ever now love it ps3 all the way

Thats fine for you, but suggesting to the OP that he ignore the new consoles and go with an old outdated console because its cheaper is stupid. Why buy a game when it will be old in a few months... :confused: Not that I don't agree there are a lot of old games. I will probably buy a PSX and PS2 eventually to play some of my favorites, but the OP wants something to play driving sims and FPS's, I would imagine he is wanting to use something newer and better looking than something from 10 years ago.

Yes, that is my point. Buy a new PS3 and a game that comes out tomorrow will be "old" in a month. ALL games turn OLD. That does not mean they are not fun to play. I never said go with it because it was cheaper. I said (or implied - not sure how you missed that) go with it because it is cheaper and does 10 times as much as a PS3. The XBox1 is by far the superior console in every respect except one - no "new" games. When you consider that all new games are old the day you open them up the choice is clear. You do realize that the PS3 was released THREE YEARS AGO don't you? Like you said "Why spend money on an old outdated console..."

You also proved my point when you said all the games that are out now suck. The age of a game has nothing to do with how fun it is to play. I'll put the XBox1 and the FPS "Black" against any game that has come out for the PS3. The ability to load the XBox1 console's HD full of kick ass games and never have to touch another game DVD (instead loading the game at much faster speed straight off the HD) is an added bonus. I can throw my XBox1 loaded to the gills with 1000 games, movies, MP3s, emulators, etc in a backpack. Try that with a PS3.

So just because new games cost more and will be old, you should just stick with old games that are already old? I really don't understand your logic. The point point of a new console is to be able to play new games that are...new, and games that are soon to come out. Instead buy an old console with games that most people have already played.

Why buy a new car, it will be old in a few years anyway, just buy a 1984 Buick. It already old and does everything you need it to do, and its cheap.

The XBox1 will play all of those PSX and PS2 games now (for FREE). No need to buy two other consoles. Plays all of those as well as all C64, Nintendo, TG16, etc games. Want to play Dragon's Lair, how about Donkey Kong, PacMan - got that too!

Nah. Something about the XBox1 I have never liked, even if it will do all of that. I can get a new PS2 slim for cheap, and a PSX for super cheap. Is there a way to make the PS2 controller work on the Xbox?
