So my friend's Ruger SR22 has a bad habit of having the barrel come loose. Apparently its a problem on the first few thousand guns. You'll be shooting and then all of a sudden it'll start having groups of 3 feet at 15 yards and start jamming and not feeding. Then when you take it apart, the barrel falls off. Not cool. I googled the problem and apparently you just need to put some locktite on it and crank down on the ONE bolt holding the barrel on.

Here's the offending bolt:

It is honestly amazing how many 'problems' with handguns are solved by adding Loctite to threaded bits on it.

$425 too much for a USED Sub2k, especially if it's stock. I over-paid for mine at $359...

He had a couple aftermarket parts, but honestly, I have yet to see a Sub 2K under $400, used or not.

I need a good little .22 semiauto plinker. Got to be reasonably priced. Carbine length preferred. Folding stock a big plus. Something able to take aftermarket mags is also desired. Not looking for great accuracy, just something to waste ammo.

Give me your best recomendations.

buddy boy, an example of the pricing I've gotten my bros recently:

Glock 20/21s $505 out the door
.40 S&W Glock Sub2000 $400 out the door (not for me otherwise it'd have been 9mm)
Ruger LCR .357 $415 out the door

oh I also bought a police turn-in 870 Magnum for $198 a few weeks ago

my dealer hooks it the ---- up

Sorry for the late reply; been camping for the last 5 days.

Excellent suggestion. Unfortunately, "not for sale in New York". But that is exactly what I was looking for.

Guess I'll have to settle for a 10/22 and a plastic stock.

bro you can go to Sports Authority and buy those GSG guns down here.

I was in Walmart today and they had four different ARs.

Suppressed? Mine is, but having cycling issues with subsonics... probaly b/c I cut the barrel where the once-fake suppressor starts - 9" or so? Most likely a lack of back-pressure

I was considering cutting my barrel and paying the tax stamp for a real suppressor, from what I read people had the same issue you are having, so they polished all the moving parts (seems like a total pain), and bought lighter bolt return springs. I still have the fake suppressor, and if I wasnt scared about loosing the accuracy, I would cut the barrel off at the threads anyways to have the short barrel look
