BCM is still running their summer (poor forecasting) special where they are giving a complete bolt-carrier group and compenastor with every complete upper purchase. I've been running their stuff for over five years now, excellent company. Their SS barrels have all shot MOA or better for me, and their hammer forged stuff will last you though two apocalypses.

BravoCompanyUSA.com

I don't think you can build something comparable for less money. Unless you are after something really specific or really spendy, I'd advocate "building" lowers and "buying" uppers.

I put an M92 brace in my shopping cart at J&G a while back and forgot it was in there. I'm not really sure I ever really intended on buying one but when I ordered the RPK from J&G a few days ago I decided the price was low enough that I could try it and if I didn't like it I could sell it on Ebay for more than what I paid for it (yep, it is true). I put it on tonight and damn if I don't like it. She doesn't fit in the "custom" bag I built for her but this thing looks like it is going to be a blast to shoot today. Size comparison with the RPK below.

Think this thing will fit on the nightstand? Might be a good replacement for the .45cal for home defense <G>.

Plans for the RPK are to stain the wood the same as the M92 ... BUT ... it will eventually be removed and replaced with black synthetic foregrip and gas tube if I can make something (I've heard that nothing you order really fits). I'd like to pull the slidefire off my WASR-10 and put it on the RPK so I can waste some ammo like this guy:

Yeah, I was going to put a comment about the guy in the video but I didn't think it was necessary. I've only seen a few people do that around here because it is big redneck country. We're lucky if they have shirts and shoes on.

BTW, I spent 3 hours at the range today and my dumb *** didn't even take the new RPK or the M92 with me. I did find out that my PSA AR does not like Tula ammo. I was getting 6" groups at 100 yards.

+1

I was at the range the other day and there were two dudes decked out in full chest rigs, boots, and spotless multi-cam fatigues with SHEEPDOG and Molon Labe patches, rocking $3K Noveske ARs that they couldn't get zeroed. These guys were both about 350lbs and under 5'9" and could barely make the walk from the parking lot to the firing line.

They proceeded to do three or four mag dumps each with their compensated carbines at the bench next to two of us shooting groups and using a chronograph (several other benches and ranges unoccupied). Before and after their range session, they drove their truck down to the 25 yard target board to put up and take down their life sized zombie and osama targets, which certainly did not have 8 magazines worth of holes in them.

This whole ordeal took less than 10 minutes.

I was impressed.

none of my guns like tula ammo, sure it cycles it just fine but damn the are horribly weighed bullets thats for sure, I get about the same grouping. Im lucky to even hit my target at my usual 10 yard practice distance with my .40 handgun on tula ammo

I get all sorts of strange looks when I pull my golf bag out of the trunk at the range.

That is until I take my Garand out of the bag and ammo out of the pouches and tell them it is my "trunk gun". Never know when you might need just a little more.

Wait, aren't you current military? If so, stop being a slacker and go buy one: Rifle Sales - M1 Garand

Did you just link a sight that ships M1 garands to your door?
I am so hot for you right now.

Yes, yes I did. This is how I got both my Garand and Carbine. Both are beautiful firearms. No fuckery, no bubba trash, no import markings, no rifles boiled in cosmoline. Just beautiful old growth steel and walnut.

How do you people NOT know about the CMP? I am seriously dissapoint.

Just make sure you are prepared to WAIT for 2~5 months after you place the order, and make double sure you meet the eligibility requirements.

I was up at Camp Perry just this week for a couple days; we had a strategy meeting. Why wait 2-5 months if you can just...walk in?

Hey, if you meet the qualifications, why not? Then you get to pick from whats on the rack.

I feel like an ***... I should have told you all about the Zombie/Bullpup shoot they did yesterday at my club.

Here is a video about a cool accessory for the Tavor that was demonstrated at the range:

Btw, yes suppressors and full auto is illegal in Illinois - unless you are the manufacturer giving demos...
