Spent $85 today on a box full of random metal to build a rivet tool and barrel press. Still need to order a piece of 4140 steel, a 5/16" ball end mill, and a drill bushing. Started prepping to cut some of the steel and decided my harbor freight horizontal cut bandsaw had the worst ******* stand I've ever seen. Its made of 18 gauge steel and connected together with god damn piano hinges!! No wonder it flops all over the place. Started building a better stand for it today but ran out of square tubing.

Wish I could give you an exact timeline. The ******* city is jerking me around on the business license so we're trying to work through the issues. Hopefully soon..

That depends on the city granting me an occupational use license. They don't like granting commercial licenses in a residential zone but I think we can work through their problems. Don't plan to have any chemicals, foot traffic or any kind of sign or otherwise indication of a business so I'm not sure why they're making a stink. Worst case a commercial building will have to be secured but that's a lot of extra expense up front..

Spent all day looking for a 3/8" x 3/4" x 1" drill bushing at some local place without any success. Looks like one can be ordered from Fastenal and they're usually pretty quick shipping ****.

Visited the new Northern Tool + Equipment retail store today. Have always found their catalog full of useful items, their store hardly impressed me. Displays at Harbor Freight looked better thought out along with overall appearance of the store..

Been home from the Desert for ~8 days and I've bought a 9mm HK P2000SK V3, a Ruger LCP, a Walther P22, and finally got a Nodak Spud receiver for my AK74 Krink build, now I gotta wait 4-5 years or whatever the lead time is now for my SBR paperwork so I can build the damn thing. Leave is good.

KPlafin...good to hear you're home for a bit. Last time I read one of your posts I think you were buying a BMW.

Decided I'm just going to build my own AR. Probably pick up a cheap lower at the gun show this weekend and order one of the S&W 5.45 uppers.

Considering going all the way and just buying a parts kit and stripped receiver...but wondering if there's that much money to be saved.

Do you plan on shooting surplus corrosive 5.45 ammo? If so, I would not recommend building a 5.45 AR unless you like taking the entire thing apart after every shoot.

I've never felt the attraction toward a krink, I don't think they're worth $1,700 but maybe you found a parts kit somewhere else...

Well ****.

I'm running out of options to fill my goddamn gun niche right now.

NM...I'll just stay away from the Korosovo.

Looks like the TulAmmo non-corrosive is decently priced.

cheap ammo and disregard for human life is the only reason to buy a rifle chambered for 5.45.

if you're just looking to build a cheap AR, build one in 5.56
