I've had dreams of a similar nature for as long as I can remember. Bad guy in the house, I have a gun and am being chased, or at least the bad guy is near me. When I try to shoot the gun it won't work, I'll pull the trigger and a shot may go off with every few trigger pulls, but it never seem to do any damage, even if I do manage to get a round off that looks like it hit.

I would think it would be oriented toward competition shooters who would want to train with their exact firearm but may not be in a position to hit a range?

 

Glad I'm not the only one who has these dreams.

Mine don't generally involve malfunctions, just ineffective rounds. I'm just unloading on the guy and it's having no effect at all. Often in the dream I've got more than one firearm within reach, and I keep moving up the power scale, tossing away the handgun to grab a shotgun, and it still does nothing.

Honestly, it's the most terrifying recurring dream I have. I don't dream about being naked in public, or falling, or being chased by monsters, or anything like that. But I have this dream fairly often, and it scares the **** out of me.*



*I just realized after typing it up and re-reading it that I'm setting myself for some serious Freudian "fear of impotence" dream analysis.

There's one shop here in town that has one in 9mm w/Glock mags and wants $400 for it. I just went to the Virginia Beach Gunshow this past weekend (around 250 tables) and there wasn't a single SUB2000 in the entire place.

I walked by a table just as the guy realized somebody had walked off with an IO Hellcat .380 and saw him lose his ******* mind... btw that was the only vendor in the place that didn't have their **** tied up.

Scored some delish deer jerkey that somehow wasn't dry as **** and finished a whole pound of it over the course of the day.

Finally decided on a pair of Maverick 88's w/ 18.5" barrels for home defense. They fit all the Mossy 500 stocks, so one in the garage with collapsing stock and one in the bedroom with pistol grip and no stock. I'm moving to New Orleans in a month, so gotta buy soon.

I tried every single .380 subcompact in the whole room. The S&W Bodygaurd 380 fit my hand way better than the LCP, Taurus TCP, Kahr, Bersa Thunder, P3AT, or any of the CZ's or Walthers... but everything I've read says the laser is $10 Ebay crap and they're about $350. The P3AT is $220 shipped and there are several options for mag extensions in different styles and capacities... that's probably the route I'll go for CCW, just gotta find the magazine setup I like best.

I've also got the serious urge for a Taurus Judge... the polymer one is $430 shipped from Buds.

There's one last Gunshow here in Norfolk before my big Nov hunting trip... but it's the weekend before a Wednesday flight, so no time to buy online if I don't find what I want at the gunshow. Even at the gunshows I've been to though, it's tough to beat Buds or CTD for new stuff.

 

Mine is always an LCP with a failure to fire.

I work in my company's corporate headquarters building downtown KCMO which happens to have a call center on the 4th - 7th floors. We've had to evacuate the entire building because of bomb threats made to our client services department, and the name of our company is plastered all over the building. On a regular basis for the first two months working in that building I had the same dream that someone with an AK broken in, stalking from office to office killing people. I barricaded my door with a filing cabinet then took cover under my desk. The guy makes it to my office and somehow gets through the door, right as he raises the muzzle I wake up.. I carry a day planner everywhere with me now and it has a surprise hidden inside...


It would never really happen.. but it COULD....

 

I put 50rds through an LCP at the range the other day. Granted it was a range gun so who knows... but I had about 10 malfunctions with American Eagle FMJ's.

I've got at least 1000 rounds through my LCP. The only issue I have ever had is when not using the slide release lever/button. On my Sigs, I always pull the slide back and release it rather than using the lever. With the LCP, I have to use the slide release to get it to chamber properly.

Otherwise, it has eaten CCI Blazer, Corbon Gold Dots and DoubleTap rounds without fuss.

That said, every time I shoot it, it makes me miss my Kahr PM9.

 

Not sure why, but I have never had a single bad dream in my life (or at least none that I can remember). I became aware of this during a discussion with a friend about 25 years ago. Never really thought of it until then. I can watch a scary movie or have a really shitty day and have pleasant dreams all night.
