Yet Another Gun Thread

Holy man.... I've been wanting a heavy barrel 22 bolt rifle.... ordered!! They've (Savage) got a .17HMR version of the same rifle I've been wanting, but I think one .17HMR gun is enough for me considering the price of ammo.. $14/50rds sucks.
(Really?? Now we're not even putting in stars for "bad" words??? )
(Really?? Now we're not even putting in stars for "bad" words??? )
Anyways, a buddy of mine had been trying to talk me into a CZ, but no way could I stomach $400 for a .22. I'd found a bunch of semi-autos at the gunshows, but guys wanted $30-$40 more than what I cold get at Buds+transfer... I just don't get it. I'd been reluctant to buy the Savage because of the low magazine capacity... 5rds makes for a lot of reloading, and so far everywhere I've looked wants $20 for 10rd mags... WTF? I'm going to miss the next Gunshow here in New Orleans because I'll be in Key West on det.
So now I gotta start doing my suppressor homework and find a local guy to do the paperwork.
I'm looking forward to doing the work on this gun to see what it shoots best. I like the idea of dime-sized groups at 50yds... we'll see what happens.

Yup, no more bleepity-bleep bad words. I guess we need to come up with some sort of code now.

Sh¡t. <-- WINNING.
Magazine capacity was something of a concern, I hadn't searched out the cost yet. That said, I'm less likely to rapidly fire bolt action and single shot guns as I would be a semi-automatic so maybe a load of 5 round magazines wouldn't be that bad with a few 10 rounders thrown in. Don't know if it's just this area, the group that runs the shows, or just the retards at them... but these shows you speak of sound SO much cooler than shows here... Don't ever find what I'm looking for.
Last show I was searching for surplus steel AK Magazines and the only place I found who had any were Romanian and $40 a pop. Sorry, but when i can buy new POS Tapco mags for $9.00 each that count for a 922r compliance part, I'm not spending 4 times as much for the steel mags. Much as I dislike Tapco I'm all about the price of their ak parts, most of which seems to be fairly descent quality. What sucks even worse is I never even see gun parts at show! Sure, every once in a blue moon I'll run across some guy with a 1903 Springfield parts kit for $150 which I should ****** up, the occasional AR upper, barrel, or some 'elite operator' parts otherwise it's just garbage, higher than retail priced ammo, and complete overpriced guns. Matter of fact, why the hell do I even continue to waste gas and 10$ admission to visit the shows????

When I pulled the ls1tech.com tab off to my second monitor for easier copypasta it put me back to this thread. Successful ninja edit with relevant information, I did place an order for 2 Savage .22lr MKII's, even though they're 32$ more than originally posted..

Yes. I have a friend that swears by them, another that uses one for a door stop.
If you're looking for a range plinker their pistol carbine is hard to beat. Available in 9mm, 40S&W, and .45ACP. Prices range anywhere from $200 on the used market to $350 new. Only disadvantage to their carbine is the magazine- You're stuck using Hi-Points.
Chiappa's are made of "pot metal" so I've read. Have fired several hundred rounds through one of their 1911/.22lr pistols and really enjoyed it, though most say they're just not good quality. They also make a $300 .22lr dedicated AR upper with composite receiver and pencil barrel, which I've never done more than handle at a gunshow.
If you want a cheap fun to shoot 1911 style pistol check out the GSG1911:
$330.00 to your FFL. GSG (German Sport Guns) also makes a .22lr knockoff of the H&K MP5 which I've read good things about, I've fired the internally suppressed GSG522 once and really enjoyed it. Something about .22lr that makes me smile.

His videos are long, but pretty informative (near as I can tell). I can't really find a real reason to dislike him. Besides, jake is a colt f@g. MUST ONLY HAVE COLT AR DURT DA DURRR
Also, this man is about to kill:
Edit: That last picture is two glocks attached to one another, which sounds dumb, read about it below:

Yet another edit:
$370 Glock 22

Well all you Taurus semi-auto haters were right. I should have done more research before buying such a brand new (to the market) gun....$430.00 mistake sucks
Here's a nice vid of what it does now -

(don't know why vid won't embed)
I started a thread about it on a Taurus forum -
http://www.taurusarmed.net/forums/pt...ing-issue.html
I sent it off to Taurus today - Maybe they will fix it..
Sucks *****!

indeed
most of the reading i'm finding now would indicate that several of taurus' .380s have a similar issue -
some folks have also sent their guns off for this and returned only to have it do the same
i think i'll prob wind up taking it to a gunsmith and see if they can mod the ramp some how or just recommend a good polishing compound to keep it slick
it just seems retarded that they haven't actually fixed this yet - it seems to me that if the bullet were sitting just like 1/16 of an inch higher it would slide in every time with no issue....

i sent it off to taurus via gander mtn today - i mean as far as refund/exchange my understanding is that isn't possible
all the stuff i read says a lot of the same things - it's an accurate gun for a .380 and after shooting it i think it is very accurate for it's size but this jamming crap sucks -
i wish i had just gotten the taurus millenium series 9mm - it was the same price and all the stuff i read on it looks better... not to mention way less talk in general of screw ups for 9mms
