Yup, minus light/grippod/pmag though. Those are just on in the picture because it came with those, haven't had them on since.

For hunting what? You can get just about any caliber you want currently from a dozen manufacturers in a lightweight bolt-action. Guys who need a lightweight rifle for long treks and mountain hunting won't carry an AR. For 90% of deer hunters who ride their quads or walk across the parking lot to their stand aren't going to shoot a .223 semi-auto 30-rd magazine they paid $1000 for when a decent Savage .30-06 is .$300. I'm just saying... guys who would like an AR for more than liquefying rabbits don't see things the way I do.

I'm all for the discussion about it though.

What IS Happening to you??? I see a MAGPUL stock there.... lol

Hopefully you're learning that there ARE other reliable quality manufactures of AR products not labeled Colt.. Just like there are sights that don't say mother effing "Trijicon" and cost $2000.00 that work JUST as well with a $200.00 price tag...

I pieced together the rifle in the top of the frame with ---- I had sitting around my garage and it worked pretty well.

the Magpul stock is surprisingly good but it was like $100 with the tube so I'm not really that impressed. I'm removing it in favor of a fixed A2 stock anyway.

I'm happy with the rifle I built using mostly Colt parts and other random stuff I had sitting in a bag under my bed/in the garage.

for the love of christ, don't think that a pump shotgun is the end-all, be-all answer the home defense.

but i think about it this way...
i intrude a home, the last thing i want to hear is the sound of the pump.

or any sound. it's not like the ratcheting sound of a pump shotgun is going to scare anyone any more than the sound of me knocking one into my AR.

Really? The last thing I'd want to hear is the muzzle blast.

A 12 GA pump has it's place. For me, it's the last line of defense, if I have to turn my bedroom door into a "funnel of death". If I'm clearing the house, or going outside, I'd much rather have a pistol or AR. But if I'm forced into a situation where I'm holed up in my bedroom, I'll have a 12 GA pointed at the door.
