Thumbs down Your Worthy Local Bands Thread:

About 3 years ago I went to a local venue to see my idol, Sebastian Bach. He tore it up big time, but the band that opened for him, I felt, was amazing.
Let's use this thread to post your local talent so we can all get a grasp on worldwide/ cross country taste. I'm very excentric when it comes to music, I like everything from opera/ classical, to death metal. Rap can suck it though...
Can't spell "Crap" without "rap".
Lol, in all seriousness...here is Taunted by Tomorrow, from Lehighton, Pennsylvania.

Guy I work with runs 461 Entertainment. He promotes this rapper from Brooklyn, NY called Paparazzi Chauncey.
This is his stuff. Like I said, I'm not down with the rap game, but I can appreciate this:

The pietasters were local NoVA guys, formed at VA Tech when I was in HS.

Lamb of God formed at VCU, while I was at VCU.

A few other punk bands formed in richmond while I was there like River City High and Strike Anywhere. I only know of one actual local band right now:

You may recognize one of the members...

Saw these guys open for some other shitty band, and I was blown away. The girl is 100% pitch perfect live.

Like most good bands, they broke up after 2 years and she is in a new band.

Yeah Sebastian Bach!!! we were actually asked to open for Skid Row at the Altar Bar, but we were already booked to be in Cleveland that day. Definitely one of my favorites!

Well, Our whole band moved to Pittsburgh From St.Louis about 3 years ago, and one of our Local favorites, that we played with every chance we got was Shattermask

Even had a festival named after them.

Definitely a different sound, but fun to listen to

We played with them at this show

our good friend at St.Luniverse filmed this vid with a cheap *** camera. Turned out pretty decent.

Sucks they arent touring or anything now.... Funny but not-so-funny thing, is Priest the vocalist, is in Jail for Rape now apparently.... He had a thing for Underage girls. He was like 27 or so when we knew him, and he was always with girls that looked 16. So, it was consentual, but the underageness condition of the females, made him a convicted rapist. Dumbass.... lol

Friend's band from high school has been doing pretty well lately.

They're a funky jam band, but they closed out their show with a cover of SOAD's Aerials. It was fantastic.

Said aerials cover:

And a jam band tune:

A Mastodon video full of twerking and I'm just seeing it three years after release on MT.net. It's like my friends don't even know me. Lots of local bands in Austin, obviously, but I could only name one (Wild Child) and while they're pretty awesome live it's not really up my ally. Most of the metal shows that come through Texas go to Houston/Dallas/San Antonio, but I'm pretty happy to see After the Burial coming through soon.

Go see them live vs a video that was obviously created for a response. They've had a negative image for crummy live shows in the past, I've seen them twice this year, they sound absolutely amazing live.
