11/14/09 Midlantic/NE Dyno Day!
Planning another dyno day for the fall since lots of peeps didn't have time to get their cars together for the spring dyno day. Same location in DE and details to follow.
Just getting the word out early so you guys can finish up your projects and get ready. Please post if you think you'll be coming/dynoing/hanging out/etc... Depending on interest, it could be just a dyno day, if we have more peeps can organize food/karting/etc as well. |
I'm down for just coming to hang out. My car needs a new engine (burning oil) and i know I wont have a new one in by then.

HOOOOOORAY! Hopefully I have the new hotness in and running 20psi by then. If I can't fit it in then I'll come up running the stocker at 15psi.

I haven't had a whole lot of time to work on my car lately, but I should have my LS2 Miata running on the 150 nitrous wet shot by then.

Why, so I have to spend the extra money on the block and head, etc....
I was hitting 18psi at 3400rpm (accidentally) before setting up my ebc in adaptronic. This is on my 1.6... Now I'm putting together another 1.6 with b6t pistons, better moly rings, mtuned rods, and billet OP gears. And I didn't spend over $900 total. So I'll still hit max boost before any of the vaginas on this forum, and I'll be running around 20psi to max out my t3 60trim and making around 300whp. I don't care who you are, if you say you can build a 1.8 for the same as a 1.6 when you started with a 1.6, you are a retard. I would have to buy the block, buy a NB head, make/buy a new manifold. Hello, thats at least $1k extra. Its not like I'm not already making face melting power with my 1.6. But keep the thread on course and be jealous you can make it to our dyno day. Otherwise I will have to beat you into submission. |

I'm doing an alignment on my car this weekend, looming under the hood and going for some logging runs. Interior is all in except for a box for my ECU to sit on the floor under the carpet. 11/14 looks good for me. Not sure I want to run my RA1s up to the event in November though. My bald ES100s will make a nice burnout vid though. Frank |

I've logged another 1k miles without another occurrence. I think you can call that problem temporarily solved. I'm going to be sticking a vband there to eliminate the slip joint. Thus permanently fixing the slipping slip joint issue.

Hey, I wasn't there when said exhaust issue happened. When I pulled the system out it was in one piece!

It was the stiffness of the flexes. Like 100ft from Frank's place there was a crucial dip in the asphalt and I hit and BANG. The slip joint came right out and the car was LOUD. We turned around and went back, jacked the car up, retightened the clamp, broke the clamp from "overtightening", frank too off his exhaust tip and gave me one of his clamps, I put it on and tighted the f@ck out of it again to crush the slip part of the joint. Holding strong ever since.

Yo Alex, you better show up this time. Also I hope to hit 240rwhp this time with my SR20 T25. If I have my EBC hooked up and the new MS works good, it better happen on 14psi. If not, I guess I'll just have to blow smoke all over the place again when I left off the gas.

No reason I shouldn't make this one. I have a few more things to do to get my IATs down so I can tune timing a bit more. That's all details though. It'll be nice to see what numbers I'm putting down. I'd like to turn up the boost if I can.

Current projects: COPS; give idle to MS. Projects since last successful dyno (fall '07!): BEGI FMIC, BEGI-ported WG, MBC set @ 15psi vs. mere WG 9psi/creepage, replaced leaky CAS o-ring, big aluminum radiator. I'll try to make it this time. Hopefully with a new engine. I'll try to take pics of the herculean task (for me) that will be pulling my old engine and installing the new one.

Aite, I reserved the date with the dyno place. $65 for four pulls with wideband, and just like in the past, they will let us do more than four pulls with some tuning in between at that price as long as we don't abuse it. Some guys have gotten on and off after four pulls, and some have done 7-8 pulls with map adjustments in between. Just to be clear, this is NOT a tuning session, but just throwing that out there so #1 you are ready with multiple maps/etc and #2 peeps don't bitch about the price b/c I can't do anything about it.
Secondly, at least 5-6 of us will be taking off the Friday before 11/13/09 to go indoor kart racing. It's ~$125 for all you can kart between 11am-11pm. It's here Welcome to MidAtlantic Grand Prix - Home of Racing Excitement and while it says $99 for the all you can kart, that's the membership price and membership is ~$25. As the date gets closer, if you are interested, PM me. |
