I expect it is subsidized by Hagerty. Hagerty purchased Motorsportsreg which is the website you use to register for the event. Grow Hagerty membership, grow motorsportreg members, win?

Also, since this is managed by the TNIA group, there are caps on number of cars on course. In my experience in the past it was ~35 cars which is a car every 550 feet.

Are they doing the full course or just the short course? Scca often does just the short course.

Everything thing I've seen so far has been full course. The last TNIA event there was the full course too. With that said, I sent an email the the event director asking to confirm it is the full course.

Has anyone ever gotten turn 17 perfect? I sure haven't.

Perfect, no. In all honesty, I feel pretty good with 17. I've give myself a B with some adjustments to be had with line, v_min, and trail braking into the turn. This is based on comparing video and data with pretty good baseline (TT4 and TTE track records.

I brake, turn, straighten, brake, turn again. But I'm probably not doing it like you are.

This is too soon for me but I thought I would post it for the rest of you.

Performance Driving Group

Our first event scheduled for Saturday May 9th at Homestead Speedway has been approved and confirmed by the Speedway. Although there are some safety restrictions in place, they will not affect your track time at all.

We will start out with the following safety measures until the Speedway changes the current requirements:

NO GATHERINGS
  • there will be no drivers meeting. The drivers meeting will be printed and handed to every driver to read and follow our rules.
  • Lunch will not be permitted, so make arrangements to either bring your own lunch or go outside of the Speedway to purchase one.
  • Classroom for Beginner's under 10 total people will be held outside by the patio.
  • No helmet rentals
  • No water so please make sure to bring some.
  • Everyone will be required to wear a mask when outside of their vehicle but not inside while you are driving or stopped. Gloves are optional.
  • If you are an instructor or a student, you should wear a mask while driving together. Not a requirement but a suggestion.
GARAGES:
  • Only 2 vehicles per garage
  • Stay 6' away from your neighbor
Our second event scheduled for May 15th at Sebring has also been confirmed and same restrictions will apply.

Registration for both events are now open.
We will keep you informed as we receive new information from the tracks

It's hot an I'm a wimp. I need to swap BMW transmissions out before my next track day. The one I installed originally sounds like it has rough bearings and is making metal. It may have been sitting in a field for years...

I could go at some point. I'm just not looking forward to the heat.

The next yet-to-be-cancelled event for me is Road Atlanta in June with NASA SE.

Chin has Sebring scheduled for 5/30, 6/13 (conflicts with RA), 7/11, and 8/8). Depending on how things start to open back up, I may pick one of those days and go to Sebring. The pit stalls are first come first serve and the hospitality areas are a/c. If the car can tolerate the heat, I think I'll survive.

Thought I would share this Red Flag gem from my last track day. BMW was acting funky all day.. which is why I was hesitant to pass the slow traffic in the first place.

The NASA Southeast event at Road Atlanta is just over 3 weeks out. I'll be there in HPDE. Anyone else going?

June NASA Sebring was a blast. Also a blast furnace, good god it was hot.
Maxxis VR-1 were getting very slick after 3 laps, this is what happened at lap 6 Time for 245 Hoosiers
