Lately, I have been driving around the country roads in central maryland and they are awesome! The whole Damascus/Mt. Airy/Olney/Clarksburg/Surgarloaf etc area back roads are fantastic. Hilly, windy, very little traffic, no cops, great views, cleanish air etc. The summer roads are nice and hot too, perfect for summer tires.

Anyone want to do a mini-meetup on June 11th around 1PM? If VA people are interested, we can meet up near a 270 exit. We can do a drive and get something to eat.

 

I was raping the roads around Annapolis Sunday night. So many great roads there.

 

I took an "alternate route" from NoVA to Deep Creek and it was pretty much the *****. so many hairpins and curves. and no traffic.

but i was not driving the miata.

also it's 3-4 hours to the west.

 

I'm working the Bowie, MD autocross that day. Dang. There are a lot of nice twisties outside Leesburg, VA, too. Like on the way up to Summit Point, there's Mount Weather, etc.

If we didn't care about people and traffic, Great Falls, VA has a bunch, too. The only bad thing is everyone's availability = bad time to drive (i.e., more folks on the road) b/c there are a bunch of blind turns, places to get airborn (just sayin')....

 

I'd totally go but I'll be at Bowie autocross too.

 

ugh. I'd rather be at Bowie. I need to figure out my car!
