The beer we were drinking was Mothership Wit Hefeweisen from New Belgium. Good stuff. Yep I had the C51s on the car all day today. I had the new NT01s on the spare wheels ready to go for the rain that never came. I was using them yesterday afternoon in the last two sessions. I think I could have broken into a low 1:57 or a high 56 since that fast lap was on my second timed lap. Hell the 1st full lap was a 1:59. But, stupid me, I did not top off the tank and was losing power in laps 3 and 4 in the corner due to really low fuel. Lap 5 was survival mode. I barely made it back in and to the trailer. Coulda shoulda woulda. Best theoretical was in the low 1:56 range. For reference the lead cars in the afternoon Spec Miata race were running in the 2:04 range. It was seriously windy today with a strong headwind on the front straight. Traffic was much, much lighter this afternoon in TT, plenty of space. Dan I was looking for you this afternoon but did not see you anywhere. Trey you left your Averies in the ice chest. Want me to hang on to them and bring them to H2R? Did you take some Terrible? Yesterday, last session, started 1st on grid, open track, fresh A6's. 1:59 first lap, 1:58 second lap, getting a feel for the amazing grip and ready to really nail the 3rd lap, giddy and excited, and then the car started sputtering on the T1-2 sweeper. WTF? Look down and I'm pegged on empty! Doh! Took the left after T-3, jumped onto the carousel and made it sputtering around back to the pump. Didn't want to be that guy..corner worker later said it made for some interesting radio calls though. First TT session on Sunday, they gridded me last, cause I didn't run Sat. LOL. Sitting behind the TTE miata. Think I passed 5 or 6 and managed a 1:59, second session I was getting too tired and just cruzed. Another 1:59 (I think, Traqmate times, didn't bother to look at the amb sheets). Who put the dead one in my cup holder? Spoolin screamed like a girl when I found it at 1am Saturday night, in the dark, locked out of the track at gate 2, waiting for a ride. LOL yeah I figured that may have been what happened. With the big wind gusts on Sunday there was some stuff that had been blown out of my trailer and ended up against the fence. No worries, that hat is not a prized possession; it is inexpensive and strictly functional.
But bring it to the next event if you still have it. It seems to get Hustler turned on so I could definitely use it for that. He is so sexy after all and I am envious of your shared man love captured in such a wonderful and tender photo. |

Hey there is a thread forming on the NASA boards about short versus long sessions. Go jump in and let them know what you want. Personally I would rather have 4 x 20 minute sessions than 5 x 15 minute sessions like we discussed Saturday night.
I suspect what could happen otherwise is the fast guys (regular NASA TTers) in the front, who get up to speed very quickly, have Hoosier tires (fast heat up), and who do not have to fight traffic will have the final word. Short sessions work in their favor since after a few laps their tires are getting greasy or they are not improving their times. The rest of us, with inferior equipment, tires, and most of all skills, are still getting faster after the 3rd or 4th timed lap. Go let them know what you want to see.
