Perhaps there was a silver lining to my transmission debacle.

Well, I guess there's always 2019...

I may just have to hit up MRLS earlier in the year so I have some experience with the track in the off-chance that Miatas at MRLS doesn't fall on or around a filing deadline one of these years.

I have footage from one session. I will post it in my build thread when I get a chance. Probably tomorrow.

Agreed, your story of it happening was just as enjoyable as watching it from the other end of the table One of my favorite parts was when she announced to the entire room that the guy she was with, "Isn't my husband, he's just a friend"

I only found the group parking area on Sunday and by that time several members has escaped for parts or because of mechanical issues. It was still nice to meet those that I could. Really fun weekend, although I could have done without the 23-hour marathon drive home yesterday in order to avoid a pending snow storm.

I was a bit like a virgin at an orgy on Saturday and obviously couldn't even do some minor sleuthing in order to find your paddock area. Eventually Andrew took pity on me and told me mid-Sunday morning where to look. By that time, it was all but deserted. So yes, sad. Will try to make next year's event and we can try again. Addictive track. Only started to properly find my way around by the final session and dropped more than 2 seconds off my previous best.

It was awesome meeting everyone this weekend! Deerhunter I also felt very virginal hence the non alcoholic margaritas which luckily kept me clear of Stacey and her friends. Thanks Aiden for the camp spot on Monday night and to everyone for welcoming me to the mt.net paddock. See you all next year... maybe sooner if there's interest in some track days in the Northwest next season.

I now officially have this saved on my calendar for next year, and my new boss has approved the time off. It looks like a 4 day drive from the east coast. So if I leave on Monday, I should be there for Friday activities. Then spend the following Monday/Tuesday futzing around California polluting with my east coast car. Then head back home.

So it has just occurred to me ...

I arrived at Laguna Seca as the hills to the north were on fire. This turned out to be a controlled burn, but still fire.

I departed Sunday evening and made it out of the Bay area an hour and a half south of Redding. This is about when the wine country started going up in flames.flames ...

And...?

Is this a fire vs flames thing? I do not follow.
