OK so now the BBQ is Saturday night instead of Friday night. So maybe instead of our normal Saturday night dinner, we go straight over there and eat, then up to the campfire for beverages/smores as usual?

Looks like the show 'n shine is on Saturday. While my car neither shows nor shines, my 5-year-old is very excited about putting his hard work on display. MTBBQ at the camp site sounds like a good plan.
For those arriving early on Friday, there are a few good roads for cruising.
Twisty and empty roads out, tacos, freeway back
Big Sur coast - epic road, views and photo ops. Will have traffic. Choose a destination based on time and distance desired. Time is for a round trip.

I'm kinda thinking something like this. Nice loop, Have heard G16 is pretty great, and cruise back up the coast.
Alternatively, could do a shorter out-and-back focusing on the twisty bits and incorporating the Cachagua loop (great Spanglish road name. at least I like to think it's spanglish).

That loop with the coast back up was my first thought. It's a solid 6 hours though and very remote, no cell service etc. It's epic, but needs a full day and some reliability and/or tools.

This place is good:
Plaza Linda Restaurant
27 E Carmel Valley Rd, Carmel Valley, CA 93924
(831) 659-4229
https://maps.app.goo.gl/YV5AxcZgvJntQe6B8
It's 18 minutes from the track for those coming straight from there, and would make a good end to a Cachagua cruise (that's the one that heads South East from Carmel Valley)

Ok, well how should we coordinate it? BBQ at the track sounds like a lot of work.
I have 4 plus me, the other 4 aren't in this chat.
Stewart+1
Nigel (+1?)
Gordon
Aidan (+10? Who are these people? Kevin, Richard, Alex....?)
I suppose we need a count. Then add a few and reserve a place? Group might be too big... Black Bear might be a good idea, they'd probably accommodate a group that size.
