wait, WHAT?!

Did not realize that.

Even more reason to find out everyone's Friday plans. When are y'all expecting to arrive?

Current plan is to roll in Thursday evening. We're gonna try to make it in one day this year since we're trailering down

OK so now the BBQ is Saturday night instead of Friday night. So maybe instead of our normal Saturday night dinner, we go straight over there and eat, then up to the campfire for beverages/smores as usual?

Looks like the show 'n shine is on Saturday. While my car neither shows nor shines, my 5-year-old is very excited about putting his hard work on display. MTBBQ at the camp site sounds like a good plan.

For those arriving early on Friday, there are a few good roads for cruising.

Twisty and empty roads out, tacos, freeway back

Big Sur coast - epic road, views and photo ops. Will have traffic. Choose a destination based on time and distance desired. Time is for a round trip.

I'm kinda thinking something like this. Nice loop, Have heard G16 is pretty great, and cruise back up the coast.

Alternatively, could do a shorter out-and-back focusing on the twisty bits and incorporating the Cachagua loop (great Spanglish road name. at least I like to think it's spanglish).

Just realized my second suggestion is the same as your first one except without the freeway back - could do either way depending on time.

That loop with the coast back up was my first thought. It's a solid 6 hours though and very remote, no cell service etc. It's epic, but needs a full day and some reliability and/or tools.

Ah, gotcha. Maybe just do Carmel valley then?

I won't be able to leave til lunchtime or so. I'm going to head north Thursday night but won't arrive til sometime Friday morning, then need to unload and such.

I’m planning to come down with my trailer and probably a friend with his trailer too on Friday evening and leave them at the track for the weekend. I’m down for grabbing dinner with everyone.

This place is good:
Plaza Linda Restaurant
27 E Carmel Valley Rd, Carmel Valley, CA 93924
(831) 659-4229
https://maps.app.goo.gl/YV5AxcZgvJntQe6B8

It's 18 minutes from the track for those coming straight from there, and would make a good end to a Cachagua cruise (that's the one that heads South East from Carmel Valley)

Can we get a consensus on an eating establishment for Friday night? We should get a count and get a reservation.

I count at least 8-10 people who will come to dinner Friday and won't be in this chat. We should go somewhere big.

Or bbq at the track.

Ok, well how should we coordinate it? BBQ at the track sounds like a lot of work.

I have 4 plus me, the other 4 aren't in this chat.

Stewart+1
Nigel (+1?)
Gordon
Aidan (+10? Who are these people? Kevin, Richard, Alex....?)

I suppose we need a count. Then add a few and reserve a place? Group might be too big... Black Bear might be a good idea, they'd probably accommodate a group that size.

Ok so 12 from Aidan, 5 from me, plus 5 others from my post, Ian, Andy, Andy's friend... That's 22...

So like 30? Damn, ha

Any restaurants that would take 30 people?
