Drif+++++++oooooooo- My track miata playing during lunch

One of the track days i attended was a dr!fto event so i decided to barrow a friends extra set of ra1s that were flat spotted and try it out.

Cool. And cool of the track/organizers to let you do it. I don't think anyone up here would. They threaten to kick out the dorifers of autox events.

either rick needs to fix the youtube embed implementation so it's smart enough to clip the front end of the URL off or you all are going to have to PAY ATTENTION.

The embed tool always messes me up because the local forum that I'm a Mod on uses the entire link!

Anyway, that vid looks like my failed attempt at DORIFTO in a big parkinglot after the Uconn car show last year (vid somewhere in media)

The major fail was trying to drift with R-comp tires! The pros don't use race tires do they? Makes you appreciate the talent it takes to do it though. The skills needed are impressive even if the competitions and wannabes are something to mock and laugh about.

In drift you want as much grip as you can afford. More grip is faster and better handling, you want that when sideways..

The track day was actually put on for the drifters, they just so happened to have a grip run group that i was running in. All the drifter guys were running around on this "skid pad" so during lunch i decided to swap wheels and have a little fun.
