Default Great hillclimb video

..."Prepare for Ludicrous speed! Close the three ring circus, clear the food court..."

"Sir, don't you think you should buckle you safety belt?"

"Eh... Buckle this... Ludicruous speed... GO!!!"

I always love the spectators lining the road on hill climbs and rally's. Nothing better than standing 5' from a car on the edge of control doing 150.

There was a Radical at a track day last year. Holy crap. That's some good fun there.

Don't know, found it with a bunch of Euro hillclimb vids. I'm guessing Germany from the link ending in .de that shows up towards the end.

That's precisely why I asked you. When I was growing up hillclimbing was the rage in Europe. Every country had its own National Championship. I was offered a chance to take a Lola up one hill when I was 19 and I declined. I knew then I didn't have what it takes to be a racing driver. Those guys were ******* crazy!

What you don't see at any time on the video is how close you are always to rolling down the side of the mountain!

It was such a dangerous sport that it got banned in many countries years later.

But for pure adrenaline, few things could beat it!

And another thing, that road is a highway compared to most of the hillclimbs we had!

I may go to Montana in the spring to do a few hill climbs and go hunting with a buddy.

One of the things I love about it(and WRC) are the spectators you see standing along the OUTSIDE of the corners, on guardrails, on bridges, etc. Complete faith that the guy won't lose it and bring them along on his way out.
