I've been trying to find turbo Miata auto-x runs so that I can get a rough idea what it is going to be like piloting this thing through cones before the first time I try it.

I love taking around someone that drives an N/A miata, they dont understand the POWAH. FWIW, he's too on/off with his throttles, needs to learn the art of finesse, much like rubbing your partners shaft.

 

I know this guy from the SPOKES auto-x crew in Austin. Cool guy, and he posts competitive times among a VERY competitive auto-x crew running with guys like Danni and Danny Pedrosa, Andy Hollis, and Jeff Warden. I believe that car is a 1.6 with a huge turbo too.

 

Same turbo I have

 

He's got a 1.8l engine on that huge turbo running about 15psi, I believe it got like 220k original miles on the engine. Drove his car and it was a blast. Corner workers are in awe when he blasts thru cones. Finesse ..... hah what finesse...all he needs is that raw power. Riding with him is a blast.

 

I can see I'm going to need more traction.
