That thing looks fun- reminds me of my Motorla Cup NB. There's at least another second there if the throttle stayed down. Is that the driver overdriving the car, or the car driving the driver?
That's an admittedly sloppy lap. I'm a slow hands kind of driver, until it's time attack. Then it's 10/10ths, lotsa quick little corrections, barely keeping it on the black part. That's the autocrosser in me. If you aren't shaking with adrenaline a bit on the cooldown, you left something out there. WOT past the apex on those turns where I lifted would have had me doing some farming. My preferred set up is slightly free in, neutral mid, ever so slightly tight coming off. That set up requires I nail the entry to be able to stay in it after the apex. You can see in Bus Stop and Sunrise I feather a bit where on a 9/10ths lap its always matted. Data showed 1~2mph higher minimum speed and same or slightly higher exit speed on every turn except Grapevine on that flyer. Time attack laps are braking a half car length deeper, releasing a half car length earlier, higher minimum speed in a given turn. That's where the time comes from. Exit speeds don't change much unless I'm doing it wrong on the 9/10ths laps too.
When I get it right it stays matted past the apex but no, it's not a second faster with that engine. Much data to support that. The untapped speed in with me driving any car on a 9/10ths lap is on entry phase.
But yeah, that 'un was quite a bit messier than you will normally see from this driver

It was such an issue that day that a group of us SV Red regulars got together with Aaron post event to make work on some adjustments to help avoid it happening again.
Typically in SV Red, everyone is under about 2:04 and we have maybe 5 guys under 2:00. Passing is wide open just like an SCCA regional and no one gets held up.
That day, I set TTOD with that lap and no one else got under 2:00. Very atypical SV event in that respect.

Is this the Rotrex car, or does it just have a similar interior?
I've seen that car in person, through Sav's windshield at Miatas@MRLS, very fun to watch it dance about the track!!

Edit edit - I clicked the quote button (slaps self and instructs self to pull it together)
That's great! I like seeing the progress that this car is making. You really have to hustle the OGK to get fast laps.
What exhaust combination are you running? i.e. muffler, how many resonators, length of resonators, pipe diameter, etc.?
I saw it in person at miatas@mrls, but you were really busy and I didn't want to ask.
