Hilariously, yes. Though your forgot to capitalize it. Like The Stig, The Turd is a proper noun.

And this, despite the fact that directly across the street from The Turd is a 157 foot tall carillon tower, which is one of the tallest structures in Alachua County (it might be the tallest- I can't find any data on the height of the 13 story Beaty Towers West dorm building), and is visible and audible from quite a great distance away.

It (the tower) was also used to film the "sniper in the bell tower" scene from the movie Parenthood. The Turd is probably visible at some point in that scene- I never checked.
